I must be in the minority looking at this thread, maybe it is my tendency to self-isolate when looting on quiet servers, but I have never had this issue with people coming and killing me. Granted, I do not loot bosses much, but I really do not see much of an issue with Muertos.
Pvp is pretty crapty if you aren't in Mercy, as really no one actually plays it much, with the population of the game ever dwindling, I do not think having 1 weekend of semi-disrupted looting is hurting anyone, unless you are genuinely annoyed that you die and spend a whole 3 minutes travelling / teleporting back to where you were prior.
I say all this as a looter. I get that it is annoying, but it is a game at the end of the day, and even if you find yourself being targeted by Mercy when they raid boss spots, then maybe go somewhere else like gold room. I know a lot of people perceive them as trolls, but for the majority of the time out of the year pvp players basically spend all of their time on Tortuga doing jack crap playing the odd game of pvp that comes along, however us looters have 365 days a year to stand still clicking on the same enemy for 8 hours a day.
Once again, I know this genuinely annoys some people, but in my opinion, it is being blown out of proportion. The one gripe I do have with Muertos is that people who are levelling and questing who are sub-level 50 are being targeted as well, and it just makes them not want to play and quit, because not only do they not have a choice to participate, but they cannot defend themselves, ultimately this is just pathetic from people that do this to levelling players. Unlike these looters (who it should be realized, have some of the best items in the game with which to defend themselves)
EDIT: I feel it necessary to say that the attitude that has been circulating as regards to people that hold "power positions" in the community is also pretty cheap. It is not acceptable when a moderator or dev or whoever, says to someone who is genuinely concerned, something along the lines of "get over it." There are many parties that are at-fault, and this event seems to bring out the worst in the community, as this process of throwing shade at each other is a waste of time and not conducive to actual constructive feedback about the event.
TL;DR; - Looters need to take the loss on the chin and let the event pass.
- Pvp players need to stop killing new players who are levelling and don't even know what is going on, much less try to defend themselves.
