So one time I was planning to go sailing with a bud. So I teleported to my bud and the boat glitched out. I was in the water. The game crashes, so I log in again. I teleport again. The boat was still glitched. My friend and I are laughing so hard in voicechat. He took a screenshot and we laughed together. Ended up swimming around for a bit just for the lols haha. So yeah, even though the game glitched we had a ton of fun. We ended up sending the bug to the support team but they got back to me after my time was already up haha.

Now then. Let us see the validity of this one, shall we? Imma spoiler it, because it's a big-un.

Ahoy! All these fine submissions are a mighty sight. Made for the drawing part of the submission. Loved working on this, and as soon as I finish typing this, I'm booting up the game :D
Good luck to all others who participate!

So here's my key! :D I'm super excited for this game and I've been waiting so long for the opportunity to play it again! Thank you so so so much for everything you guys have done! So my key has a skull on the top of the handle, it's wrapped in a pirates flag and chains, the handle is a rope with a snake, the octopus has black liquid and holds a treasure map, and the key itself is eroded and on a pirate sword. It took just under 4 hours to make! I hope I'm one of the winners and good luck to everyone else!

After thinking about this a bit more, I tried better to incorporate the elements as I understand them: a Key, for Keepers of the Code, that would look good as a ship logo and as a player tattoo. That means it had to limit the details that would not show up well in the low-res game, and perhaps have a mostly two-tone color scheme. I kept the Ship and it's Sail as the key tooth component, and added Old English letters floating off the main body of the key shape. I hope you like it!

I hope I am doing this right
my Tale is not a funny one but it may make you cry.
the tale is of a Proud Captain who loved to sail the seas one who would go down with the ship rather than return with the hold less than full. his name was Dog Gunspinner a very Active leader in a guild known as the Ocean warlords one of the founding members and an advocate for all that the guild stood for Captain Gunspinner would Sail late into the night in efforts to provide a substantial Booty to all who stayed on board weather it was sailing the edge or being chased by the big guns he never gave up and very rarely got sunk (mostly due to glitches when it did happen)
his passion for the game and unending willingness to help all who were in need gave him quite the reputation in the Caribbean
oh these many years since the dreaded Mouse decided to drain the life from those of us who lived it, he has had a Davy JONES to sail again, the joy you have already brought to his old tired heart by bringing us back to life again is immeasurable, his only humble request is for a Key
the key to his happiness lies in a key to play, as he has a very busy schedule and has been struggling to make time for play having to schedule in advance has been difficult to say the least, he will never give up and will be eternally in your debt for the opportunity to receive the gift of a key
Thank you for your time may the winds be in your favor and your sails fly true sincerely, Captain Dog

I researched the meaning of various common pirate tattoos of the time and eventually designed this. It's a bit feminine, but each bit has a meaning relating to the game. Also, please ignore the green paper.

One of the many things I always liked about this game are some of the funny names people come up with for their characters or ships. One of my favorite character names was Lord Aaron Crayon. I first saw Lord Crayon on the dock in Tortuga. He was very lordly, and he had a fancy rare shirt that was bright green with very puffy sleeves. A couple of us other pirates tried to get his attention, but he was busy doing his lordly duties and didn’t respond. So I went offline for a few minutes, and composed a limerick about him. When I went back online, he was still on the docks, and so I said, “Lord Aaron Crayon! I wrote a poem in your honor. Here it is:

There once was a Lord Aaron Crayon
Who wore shirts of finest rayon
In the bay he was found
Sadly, he had drowned
Cuz his floaties wouldn’t stay on.”

I had done my best to make a new friend, but he still didn’t respond to me. Oh well, bilge rat that I am, I guess I don’t understand the ways of lords.

Back in 2009 when i was new to the game, I bought myself a ship for the first time and sailed to Tortuga. On the way, I was attacked and my ship lost almost all of its HP. I did not know how to repair my ship, and as a prank, my friend told me it repairs itself over time. I spent the next 3 hours waiting at Tortuga for it to be in good condition. My friend died the next day.

When I was a young lad, I used to play this game 24/7. I played the game so much my parents had to ban me from it. I was very upset and have never played the game since. Recently, however I saw a you tuber I watch who also played the game find this game. The youtuber was Tanner Braungardt. Now I have just discovered it for myself and I am very excited to play regardless if I win the key or not.
