You were in a flying glitch.What were you doing before you teleported to your friend? Well if its not a flying glitch i dont know what it was, thats what sometimes you can see the structures and some times you cant.

Weird... This happens to me as welll, when i tp to someone i end up being outside of the map where i get the same screen as you Jason, but then when i walk/fly to south idol everything gets normal.

Not sure what you did o.o

Something similar to this happened to me once when entering the mines by teleport, although I was able to get out of it by floating above the path of the cave. I simply fell back down to ground level.
