No Princess (A poem by me)

Ok, so I haven't been on the 'Once Upon a Time...' Forum in a long time, because of writer's block, school, ect., so here's my first poem! Hope you like it! ^-^



My past flows around me,

As I try my best to avoid it,

I’ve tried my best to be

That princess in the past,

But my river of life

Has run out of my control

And my head has gone on strife.

The princess of me is gone,

And all that’s left is my thoughts

And that one

That one worry

That will not

Find its way back home.

And I fear the lot,

The whole lot of the world

Other than few,

Who have stayed with me.

And there’s no way

Of becoming new

Because all of my thoughts

Have turned to a dark plague

That I can’t escape.

And in this war,

I am not a princess,

Nor hiding

I wish for a bit more

Of strength

So I can go

All the length

To defeat this devil

Within my head

And I will revel

In its absence.

And I know one day you’ll regret it,

Leaving me,

And I know one day you’ll forget it,

What my name meant to you

I will never be the same

And I know

Nobody came

For that pretty princess

But I’m no royalty

I don’t need no gems,

One day they’ll see,

I’m fine just the way I am,

Although I’m not okay,

I will dream of the light within,

And on this bed I lay,

Wishing for sleep to come,

So I could change what I’ve been

And knowing tomorrow is another day,

Here I rest,

knowing the darkness will stay right at home.
