So I was looking on the new Disney website and found this...

Toontown and POTCO have been taken off the website completely
 
Ye mates need to realize that POTCO "has always" been a game that Disney gives very little attention towards (unless of course a new 'Pirates of the Caribbean/Jack Sparrow' movie is about to be released).

This news is not surprising to me. *If you conduct your own research, you will find that POTCO is rarely ever mentioned at all. Trust me, I have looked (& I have lost track of 'other' Disney games remaining the focus but POTCO failing to even be mentioned). It is particulary sad - ye pirates - but after awhile ye become numb to this understanding. :(

This of course leads to the question as to, "WHY?" To give you the short answer, it is because of the push (within gaming) towards a trend totally incompatiable to the platform POTCO is presently using. In essence, POTCO is not "mobile" & therefore profitable enough within the minds of the powers to be. Sure...there is the POTC-Master of the Seas game. :D But, this is not the same now is it? Also, there are those whom feel that POTCO is not penguin enough according to the evolutionary DNA of birds, lol.

Don't be alarmed. This is not a sign that POTCO is closing. :) Rather instead, this is more of the same. Just understand that there are those whom don't realize the potentials POTCO can bring & therefore (as pirates), we need to accept this fact somewhat, no matter how much we ultimately disagree.

That's because those are games which Disney has been able to make good profit from. The unfortunate truth is Pirates Online is not profitable in it's current state, and Disney would really have to change their business model to make that happen. That's one of the things our petition focuses on.
 
If this game shuts dwn, I will not be surprised the lack of poor attention towards their players and game? Horrible! If they would of never changed the islands, this game would be so so so much better in my own mind! R.I.P old potco!!

Yea thats what you would say now but if they had never changed the islands am 100 % you would say the game would had been much better if they had changed the islands
