Old Habits Return!

Every time I sail maybe two seconds away from an island that I launched from, a lag spike will occur, then my entire ship will stop moving, similar to what used to happen in Alpha.

When your ship pauses look in the distance they are adding more ships to your display. It looks like they coded it incorrectly and are doing a synchronous call instead of an asynchronous call. Crashing may be caused by blowing out the buffer when the data returns. I sailed the entire map yesterday and when my buffer got full the application crashed and I was disconnected.
