I'm not sure if this was available in POTCO, but it would be handy if I didn't have to enter my login and password every time I crash/restart.

Should your game crashes, you'll will be greeted by launcher with your username filled in. Pre-filling passwords locally as well could lead to severe security breaches

for myself i am on a personal computer noone else ever uses, its seems kind of stupid to not even save password, let alone username, when i leave the client

NO Potco never had this feature : I just copy and paste my password and type the Name
