Discussion Over Powered War Brigs

This is a discussion I wanted to bring back into the fray now that the game has officially been brought back into fruition.

The game is now back into it's 2013 feel. Yesterday, I got the chance to go on solo loot runs in my War Brig, even take down two other sailors ganging up on me in SvS, who were sailing a War Sloop and a War Frigate (though I'm not surprised about the sloop). When I was using the brig, I once again felt unstoppable, and like the posts from the pasts, I am a proponent for nerfing the War Brig.

Who else agrees? Is anyone here ok with the War Brig being so over powered?
 
Currently the only reason the War Brig seems over-powered is because of the damage scaling of broadsides and the lack of health on ships. The fact that ships barely have any health means that they can be destroyed faster. I don't want a nerf for my favorite ship type, rather I want to see the ship's healths fixed so that the are not so squishy. Hopefully this is fixed sooner rather than later but a nerf is not the solution.
 
Yea, how about we first get the game stabilized first? doesn't feel 2013ish to me considering half the people can't even get into the game with their reserved slots.

The salt from the sea shouldn't make ya salty and passive-aggressive towards the devs, the amount they fixed in the twoish months the game was down is, in my opinion, impressive. I'm sure they will have the game back up and running very soon. Till then, best of luck to ye in your endeavors and ALSO! The War Brig isn't overpowered, some captains are just better than others. lol
 
Same, probably because I don't ever svs but still, and a war brig is no match for skull and bones war frigate, I 1v1 my own accounts ships on POTCO and war frigate beat same level war brig (brother at the helm of war brig)

Well... to be fair, he is not wrong. I certainly agree with him. Yes, the amount of work the devs have been able to do is impressive and I'm sure we're all thankful that the game is closer to being fully released. However, the priority for right now should definitely be getting the game stabalized. No doubt in my mind that's exactly what they're doing now before they continue with any other tasks. :)
 
I never said he was wrong, but so many people are complaining about it on random threads they can find and interrupt, it's kind of annoying. Obviously the devs are working on it if its a problem, they care about the game too. And to not get too off topic, another reason the war brig isn't too OP: War frigates have more cannons and when you sail with a full crew of rev ram friends, you win everytime. because more cannons :)

The frigate has more On Deck cannons. The War Brig has more broadsides, is faster, and is more armored than the war frigate. Seems a little too overpowered. In the past, each ship had it's own stats that separated play style. The sloop was the fastest ship, allowing for a hit and run style of play. The Frigate had the most on deck cannons and armor, allowing for more of a crew based, tank gameplay. And the galleon had the most broadsides and cargo space, used specifically for cargo runs. But then, in came the War Brig breaking essentially all the stats.
