Nobody forces anyone to be a jerk to them. People do that on their own accord. Also, what is TLOPO (and POTCO) most readily known for by the community? Is it not looting? Players will ultimately interact with one another.
In lieu of what is known (see above ^) a few others and myself propose a change in the way the game itself should accept in-game options which could work inconjunction with the outdated but standardized options of ignore/report.

I'm sorry @Shamus The Brute. While the team appreciates ideas and suggestions for new ways to tackle situations, we also have a very good knowledge of our own systems, and some ideas just would not work to fruition like you might think. That's not to discourage you from suggesting such things, however,
With as niche and close-knit as it appears TLOPO has become, like POTCO, it is just "ridiculous" that the best (official) advice shared is to ignore, report, deal with it, or remove yourself entirely from misbehaving pirate. Really? Get real! *I feel such line-of-thinking only gives an adversary predictable outcome which they can use to further pursue and exploit and avoid.
I will state what I stated previously. We DO NOT ban players for attempting to raid another player's looting spot. It makes no sense, and it isn't something (I personally feel) that should be reportable. Yes, it can be frustrating for everyone to have another player raid your looting spot. Staff have no "safe channels" to be able to loot privately, so we're also at that same mercy if someone wishes to be unwieldy.
People need to completely re-think and stop trying to put a bandaid on an issue which has carried over from POTCO! Hence, TLOPO needs more options for players to utilize.
Regardless of what systems are thought up by the players, this will not change the fact that the TLOPO Terms of Service simply do not cover this. Trolls exist regardless of what moderation circumstance looks like in front or behind the scenes, and I promise you that it won't change.
