Pirates Collecting Information??

A friend of mine received a pop up that took up most of his screen, was a grayish color, and had the POTCO logo. It indicated that it was gathering pirate information.

Has anyone ever received this before?
 
Might want to be careful if it ask for any personal information or account information, don't give it away.
 
How odd... I could see a pop up coming up while on their site IF they were conducting a survey on the site... like you'd get when you go to other sites. However, this seems very strange to me. Your friend needs to do a virus, malware, etc scan and delete history and cookies too. I'd also suggest that he contacts them about this. If they were not doing that, then it could mean that someone was trying to collect info and using their name. POTCO needs to be aware if someone is doing that and its not legit.
 
Seems sketchy I would just log off immediately and see if this is a recurring thing. Doesn't hurt to ask disney.
 
I have had a box pop up often and ask for feedback. Maybe it's only select people it happens to, idk. If I see it again, I'll take a screen of it.
 
I was on abassa a while ago and they were all talking about ONE pirate, that was trying to hack POTCO, he got pretty close, AND he was able to get some pirates accts, IDs, etc. Never hear a thing since

Please tell me ye reported this? Took screen shots of the chat logs and sent it in!!

I didn't know how to take screenies or report anything that at the time, I told as many people as I could. a few days later he had gone from abassa's mouth.. Something that big and with THAT many people. Very odd,

Press F9 to take a screenshot. Use the main website to report under contact us.

I dunno I have been playing this game longer than a lot of people who play now could read aka since 07, I've never seen this before. There has been a lot of hacking and malicious stuff around Pirates lately and it seems to be getting out of hand. I think we should bring these issues to Live Chat because it is not fair for pirates to lose their stuff to a hacker or gameplay to be interrupted by these shady lazy mates who can't take the time to do the work themselves. This needs to be put to an abrupt end, I miss the days when this game was about fun, not drama, not trouble, not hacking, etc. here is the link to contact Pirates Online Staff http://piratesonline.go.com/#/help/contact_us.html I suggest if anyone sees suspicious pop ups, or people trying to get your account use the report feature located at the bottom left hand corner of the player card. I don't like all this dishonesty it disgusts me. just my two cents.

Probably, or maybe something they want to use in the future but haven't yet and it's somehow "leaking" onto my screen. It's annoying because it freezes up for a few minutes and won't let me escape. Bugs are bugging me!
