As many of you may have heard, a recent announcement has been released by myself via my YouTube channel, Twitter and Facebook pages stating Jacob (O'fury), the current project leader of Pirates Online Rewritten has left the project all together, and the information has since been confirmed false, blaming the event on myself.

The way I see it, i've done nothing wrong.

@TheGleamings (current Pirates Online Rewritten staff member and former project leader) messaged me stating such information, requesting I spread the news via my YouTube channel.

Like always (and like any other news service), I give my sources in the video's description and state where such information came from, in this case, @TheGleamings.

Right out of the video's description:
According to former project leader and current staff member James Gleamings...

I done my part. And of course, have since stated that this information was confirmed false by several other another remake staff members, a statement on the official forums and by @TheGleamings himself, apologizing for the mistake.

As long as I am only a news reporter and in no way officially affiliated with the another remake staff, i've done my job, and that's the most you can ask of me.

I only wish the situation was handled in a more mature manner by the Pirates Online Rewritten team, claiming some responsibility themselves for the actions of their fellow staff member instead of blaming the entire event on myself.

Thank you @TheGleamings, for realizing your mistakes and apologizing. Official apology can be found at http://pirates-online-rewritten-forums.com/threads/i-apologise.2512/

As always, I only wish the best for the community and thank everyone for the continuing support and understanding.

Not so sure when the another remake Staff blamed anything on you. The only time your name would have been mentioned was when we told people that the news report you did was false information.

This is just :2 cents:

I am a bit concerned that such information came out so quickly from someone as high on the totem pole like Gleamings. It makes me wonder how truly organized another remake may be internally. Apologies if I've "offended" anyone. It's unfortunate you have received unnecessary criticism for reporting it and I feel for you JDP.

All I can say is that this situation makes me very very concerned.

I saw the forum message before seeing your video Johnny. I immediately got the impression from the wording that you were intentionally spreading false information, and that the content you produced could no longer be trusted. Me, knowing and following your channel and what you do, I knew that it couldn't be true. Sure enough, you were producing content based on what a official person had said; as you always do.

This also makes me concerned even further about the stability and trustworthiness of another remake. Make all the comments you want that another remake owes us nothing; but lying, spreading rumors, and disrespect is against basic human morals. Anyone that goes against these morals should be shown concern towards. I have noticed in the past another remake trying to set Johnny up as a non-reliable source of information. This could be the case here yet again, but either way I think there are some deeper problems within another remake. If a trusted group member is spreading information around about a particular event, but is not informed themselves, then how can they have true information?

Pirates Online Rewritten is not an office. We don't all live in the same time zones, and we certainly don't communicate as often as we would like. While, we were having rough times it would be easy to misread something in one of our chats. Half of the time you only see half of a chat because the rest of it was in real time through a Skype call. You only see the portions that those without a microphone type out. This is difficult. I would love to have a another remake Office and work closely with the entire team, but this is not possible. Unfortunately, I am positive this will not be the last disconnect between the team, there is only so much we can do when some members of the team are asleep while we are awake. I apologize to those that expect another remake to not make mistakes, that somehow our mistakes are harming you. We cannot be perfect, we do not have the resources to be perfect. We do however, have the resources to recreate another remake and that is our main focus. To avoid such disconnect in the future being released to the community, another remake is creating it's own official news channel on YouTube and the details will be released soon. We have spoken with Johnny about this before but I feel as though he will continue to create his videos. We do not support, nor do we appreciate any videos released by his channel any further. This is now the second time a video has been created without confirming first with myself, or members of the another remake team. Going off of a single another remake member's word and not conducting further research for something as large as this is simply unacceptable by any "news" related entity.

How hard would it be for your team members to NOT say anything if they do not know for sure? We are not expecting you to work as some AAA game company who has hundreds of coders and a PR and support team. We all, if not most of us, understand you are doing this out of your own time. But that doesn't mean your team may spread information they don't know for certain.

If it is true that information is not readily available to your team, (which is fine and understandable, given the circumstances), how are we to know that you, the project leader and manager, knows anything more than TheGleamings? How and where do you get your information? How do we know that when Mike Wass makes a post on the main page that it is reliable information? Where did he get his information?

If some of your team is informed and some is not, please do tell who we can trust and who we can not. And if we can trust someone such as TheGleamings more than Mike Wass then where is he getting his reliable information, and why is Mike Wass not able to get that information.

Despite popular belief the critics of another remake, including myself, are NOT trying to bring you down in a ball of flames and rubble.

I work in a office, I can hear things differently than the guy sitting next to me hears. Information can be morphed into something totally different after it passes through a ton of people. There was a discussion with myself and a few friends that work on another remake and the content of that conversation was taken out of context and lead to most of this. If it is an official release, then it is already sent through many people before the post is made. If we are just commenting on a post or in the forums chat. Our information may not be exactly reliable. Just because of the disconnect, unless we personally work on that portion of the game then it is difficult to understand it at the level we should. We try to share information but with things changing so quickly as we work on another remake, then it is difficult to stay recent. There is simply just not a fix for this, unless I limited everyone from talking to the community without first going through our Community Development team. Trust me, I've been working on a solution for weeks.

I think this is a good solution.
I've thrown the idea around, but I really want the community to be close to the developers. I think it works out well for both. I'm working on a system to try to "classify" information that can be released and what cannot be released. I've been super busy with my real life job so I haven't had time to work on it just yet. Hopefully I will this weekend.

Fellow swashbuckler,

I'm puzzled as to why you needed to post all this o.O I mean just move on, no need to make a scene about it and proclaim it to the world

I meant to bring this up earlier but you know I delayed a bit... no less better late than never! Seeing as another remake can turn into a stirring pot of drama I want to remind anyone who posts to be sure to keep civil when posting and replying and not to let our hostile, uber defensive sentiments over another remake get the best of us!

You gotta let others know you are innocent if you actually are, if not you can hurt your reputation.

I agree with Bart. If you are accused of something (ex: robbing a bank or anything you didn't do), you should let people know. You can't just let it fly by or people will think you actually did it. That doesn't benefit the accused at all and only hurts their reputation.

So I ask: how is defending yourself wrong?

I just dont think he needs to make a huge thing about it. That's all I'm saying

JDP did nothing wrong in posting this thread. I don't see where he is TRYING to stir up any drama by defending himself. All he did was make a post to explain where he got the information from.

Clearly there are a few issues that need to be worked out by the another remake staff to avoid this type of misunderstandings.

With that said this thread will be locked.
