POTCO MC Ads

To my understanding, Gamers Fanon Wikia isn't an ad, it's just a link because I'm assuming Davy thought it would be helpful to have a link to it for the community.

I also believe the JDP thingys are direct links as well. You can tell for both because hovering over says " www.piratesforums.co/link-forums/johnnydapirates-youtube-channel.96/ "

I haven't seen the POTCO MC link until when I logged out and refreshed the homepage 10 times or so, but when I hovered over it, it looked like it has the same link type, so I'm guessing Davy added that one as well

Personally, I don't have a problem with this being asked out in the open (though I would have appreciated a chance to reply before things got carried away). I want to be as transparent as reasonably possible.

We "advertise" projects that we believe to be relevant and interesting to the POTCO community, to spread awareness. We generally make deals with these projects to cross-advertise each other. We don't take any other form of compensation for these advertisements (money or otherwise).

With that said, we don't stand by every single decision made by these projects. None are perfect (these forums included), but I do think the projects are interesting and worth at least checking out, if nothing else.

The sidebar banner currently rotates randomly between JDP and POTCOMC. If you see more of one than the other, it is a coincidence.

If there are further questions, I'll be happy to address them (so long as they are asked politely and thoughtfully).
 
We should advertise fairly and give everyone related to potco equal ad space and ad time to help spread the word of these awesome community potco projects and wikis I dont think its fair that potco mc gets a big ad on the front page and not TLOPO. we know they are rivals but we should give them equal ad space for we dont discriminate.
 
I am inclined to agree.

We welcome TLOPO discussion here (as long as the discussions remain civil, admittedly we've had trouble moderating them effectively in the past). When the project is in some sort of testing state and the community can give it a spin, I would be happy to promote it alongside the others, if the TLOPO team is up for it.
 
At this point in TLOPO development, following the JDP banner when it appears is probably sufficient for "advertising", since that link provides a lot of info for anyone interested in current TLOPO news and updates. As Davy pointed out, maybe when TLOPO is also up and running something more dedicated to the game would be appropriate. (Disclaimer: These are just my personal opinions, I am not speaking for the TLOPO team as a whole)

Side note: Why were TLOPO and POTCO MC referred to as "rivals" in the previous post when they are in no way related? Are they really viewed that way by the community, rather than as two separate games to be enjoyed by the community if they are interested?

I'm inclined to agree on us and TLOPO being rivals. We aren't. We have no interest in being such. Maybe if it was for giggles as a friendly rivalry "NO WE CAN MAKE A BIGGER KRAKEN LOLOLOL" if it were something "4thelolz" sure I don't see why not we wouldn't actually "compete" but we aren't rivals and anyone that says so really is trying to stir the pot of controversy. We are two different operations period. I would even go as far as saying anyone that lists TLOPO as a rival is attempting to do the same if they were a project and vice versa.

On a side note unrelated to the above I will apologize for my behavior as it has been not quite easy when I've received plenty of heat on and off server on petty issues and I let my guard down allowing demons to take me. There was no excuse for allowing it to impair my judgment as a moderator.

Per Johnny Goldsmith, there's no reason to create and advertise for TLOPO individually considering the fact that JDP is already promoted here, and he is TLOPO's project leader. Furthermore, what's to advertise? The "thought" of something that everyone here already knows exists? No offense, but they don't exactly have anything to give people to do at the moment. All we know of TLOPO is what we see on JDP's channel, which is already promoted.
