POTCO Offical Site Being Removed.

I should clarify on the above statement...

What I should have said was that Disney incorporated POTC characters heavily into Disney Infinity along with various (other) mobile/social games including "Pirates of the Caribbean: Isles of War" - and - "POTC: Masters of the Seas." The point I am trying to make is that Disney clearly intends on continuing the POTC brand through various app-type games, which is quite unfortunate considering that the decision was made to close down POTCO.

Seems true. Pirates of the Caribbean will continue as a Disney brand to include park rides, digital games and all other types of merchandise. Jack Sparrow will live on for a long time within a Disney framework. Sadly, the MMO product was killed and will likely never return.
 
OMG....... POTCO Site is BACK UP! The POTC style is fixed? - Why would Disney fix the page that says POTCO has been closed? Why would they fix the POTCO site now?

I think they are FIXING the site and removed (cutting) and pasting it and pashing things up for when they reopen it :O

What are your thoughts?

I wouldn't get your hopes up. It's probably a bug with their website code. Or... knowing Disney they probably put the content back up to get people's hopes up then crush them. As they have done a million other times.

To this day, the World of Cars website is still up and running. The break down of the site was probably a mistake that has just recently been fixed. This doesn't mean anything.

I think there is a very small chance that they are keeping their options open by keeping the domain name of piratesonline.com in case they do ever remake the game or do something else when the 5th and 6th POTC movies come out......

That's odd O.o. I really hope Disney isn't doing the classic dollar and string gag. Think about it, we all go on and see it, we're all happy and then BAM gets taken away.
 
Try 5 almost 6 years... Also, I think Disney is gonna make a comeback with the next POTC movie and bring back POTCO if it is a hit (Like they always are) :P However, it can go ether way.
 
aye i do think theirs more to it than that if the game was closed why would they bother making something thats gone look pretty? we must keep open minds and hopes high. reguardless of disneys intentions this must be a sign telling us its not dead.i guess this topic is a bust lol the official site isnt going anywhere apparently its being improved not removed

Disney is not going to get rid of their websites due to copyright. They do not want someone else registering the domain names. Disney would not close potco JUST to reopen it a year or so later without saying anything, keeping players in the dark....they certainly would not send special gifts to their bigger players( like Pretty Polly). Time to move on...get a job, go outside, get married,go to school,go fishing...etc.

aye been with her since the begining with 3 payed accounts (thats over 2,ooo dollars towards the game) my pirates are literaly part of me and hold a special spot in me heart and i believe it will make a comeback (with proper advertisment of course) and the game is not "gone" just closed meaning its basicaly just as it were closed for maintenance and can be reopened just as easily its just a matter of whos going to run it.

Well I just checked the website again after reading this post (I've been checking it about every week or so) and it seemed like it was down to me? Did they take it back down again?

Site still works fine, for me.
 
We'll I just heard a friend somehow glitches into the game and there are many things different he claims like the volcano on padres is gone the other day there was no enemies now all of them are there now he got found today and they said if we make a reopen you can get back on
