Proper Skill Placement for Optimal Efficiency

Big Kab

Pirate Master
Ahoy All, I am here to help the returning pirate and perhaps the new lowly pirate learn the ways of the game again, I have screenshots of what I considered the most optimal skill placement for every weapon, with some variations based on being basic or unlimited. I will edit with actual advisement on the ones I would change since everyone is unlimited now. This ought to help everyone get back on their feet Pirates_Online 2012-10-15 11-46-25-38.jpg Pirates_Online 2012-10-15 11-46-32-07.jpg Pirates_Online 2012-10-15 11-46-38-06.jpg Pirates_Online 2012-10-15 11-46-43-66.jpg Pirates_Online 2012-10-15 11-46-50-59.jpg Pirates_Online 2012-10-15 11-46-56-28.jpg Pirates_Online 2012-10-15 11-47-19-66.jpg Pirates_Online 2012-10-15 11-47-25-00.jpg
Edit: I would take the skills out of bane shot and put them into silver shot to max that out, and perhaps shoot or maybe hex eater, sailing is up to your discretion, everyone has a different style of sailing, I believe I would change a skill on dagger somewhere, but I'll need to get daggers back to read them to be certain; that goes for grenades, staff, and doll as well. Staff and doll you'll also want a variety of skills until you max it out, then pending your usage of those weapons, drop a bunch of the abilities. Same goes for grenades and dagger/throwing knives I'd imagine. As I level and pick up new weapons to read tool tips on abilities I will further perfect this list.

I appreciate all the positive feedback! Glad y'all are enjoying this thread! :) I know I myself have been referring to it as I further my progression in TLOPO :P

I remember hearing from somewhere that the skills for broadsides when sailing only need skill points assigned to one of them, and not both. For example:
Left broadside: 5 points
Right broadside: 1 point
= both broadsides have the strength of the left broadsides.

I'm not sure how much truth there is to that, but regardless my OCD makes me give them both 5 points anyway so that they'll be even. So I've never tested this myself :P Does anyone know if there's any truth to this?

Interesting - couldn't you test this by viewing the damage numbers from each broadside? Makes me want to try it next go around.

I don't have any plans to test it in the near future but maybe further down the line. If you test this please be sure to let me know haha.
