Well, the ship that played the Pearl throughout the movies was remodeled to be the Queen Anne's Revenge, so technically it is the same ship

That book maybe not as true though. It probably doesn't give away a lot of the plot and subplot so there may be hope. Here is what the Providence looks like...

Black Pearl was the best looking ship evar.
The HMS Interceptor was beast too, It would be awesome if Davy Jones would bring it back up and it would be the new Pearl.

From what I gather in the movie trailers, Barbossa lost the Pearl to Blackbeard. Then Barbossa turned privateer.

The HMS Sunset, which played the Black Pearl in most of the films, was reconstructed to portray the Queen Anne's Revenge in Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. (Info from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_Pearl ) (the pearl is a galleon.)
