whats the best way to go about getting this blade? it would go great in my collection! id like to know the best place of going about getting this.

Lost Sword of El Patron is found literally everywhere, with the exception of the three Hollowed Woods bosses that have exclusive legendaries. Your best best would be to loot in Gold Room, Bridge, or with other players at any number of Tormenta bosses. The second best way is through sailing, as they're a pretty common sailing drop if you're out and about a lot with a little bit of luck.
Finally, do remember that your pirate Notoriety needs to be at least Level 30, and your sword at least Level 22 in order to have any chance of the weapon dropping.

I don't think you need to be level 30+, it isn't a Raven's Cove quest sword -- just need level 22+ sword.
Gold room and other non-boss Tormenta/RC enemies may be the worst spot as they also drop other legendaries if you want specifically El Patron. Something like Tomas Blanco, Devil Root or Sailing would be the best shot at exactly Lost Sword of El Patron I think.
