Background.

As you can see by reading the title, I am offering a request to remove Raven's Cove from being one of the only open ports when a player has a bounty. I'm sure there are others out there who want this just as much. It's annoying how we're all gathering materials near Padres Del Fuego, yet we have to sail to the opposite side of the map to receive our beloved items from an island that is isolated and doesn't have a good position to launch a ship.

But wait, there is more!

Turns out after a good material run you will be heading either towards Devil's Anvil or Tortuga then BAM! Those islands are no longer available, and we have to sail to RAVEN'S COVE. It's even worse with a cherry on top (I mean by infinite load screen after porting at Raven's Cove). Sometimes it's the other way around where you will be sailing to Raven's Cove then BAM! Tortuga or Devil's Anvil are only open. Seriously though, this is frustrating, as I'm sure it is to other players as well.

What would need to be added?!

Simple. Just add the other islands such as Outcast Island or Isle Tormenta. The other islands that the Navy are not stationed in. Just Jolly Roger's allies/minions and some NPCs. ***PLEASE add a timer below the port available text so we know when the ports will rotate.

Also...

If these islands were to be added, please add a dock-master or some NPC on the beach who can help with your ship. Especially on Devil's Anvil. Maybe some gunsmiths too (Cannonballs).
 
With all due respect, I disagree with the timer, and removal of Ravens Cove as an open port. The point of the port closures, and random changes, is to make having the bounty more challenging. Sure, it's frustrating when the port changes at the last second, but I feel like adding a timer would just kill the challenge, and the subconscious thinking "Oh, am I gonna make it?!"
 
The whole point of it changing to Ravens Cove or from Ravens cove to say Padres is to really mess you up and give you a sense of doom like your gonna sink. Its part of the game so no.


However Ravens cove does need a Shipwright to repair ships from.

I can relate to all the responses and also to the idea of this thread. Many times solo aboard a rank 6 copperhead war galleon, crawling to shore blazing in flames, and the second you're about to hit port it changes locations on you! If on Abassa and it happens to be laggy, you're feeling doomed because it's pretty tough to cross the map (in the slowest ship ever) with a Hunter and Warship on your bumper. I wouldn't want Raven's taken off the list of ports though. I wouldn't personally want a timer either. I think it's part of the fun we'd experience if we were in that real life situation of being chased as we try to get away with the loot!
I feel your pain but as frustrating as it may be at times, I like it the way it is. We're pirates! :ar:
 
The only change in island porting I would like to see is that ALL of the islands are included, even the remote wild islands!
And speaking of wild islands, there's a lot of work to go in making those once fun locations desirable to go to again!
The wild islands are mere vestiges of the wonderful leveling grounds they once were and hopefully they are brought back to the original glory at some point.
 
Lately I have noticed that quite a few High level ships hang out around Rumrunners on particular servers. Omens, Behemoths, Juggernauts. If you stay in that area you are within close distance of all the ports. :)
 
Theres war ships around ravens cove, perdida and tormenta lol , sail outside of tormenta twards ravens cove but out a little off the map to the left :thumbsup:
