Richard's First Alpha Impressions and Bug Observations.

Richard Seakidd

Honorable Pirate
I just got finished with my First semi-open alpha session. First off, congrats to the devs for getting the game this far along and running! This thread is simply posting my observations, good and bad, for TLOPO as of 6/21 in my alpha test on Port Royal. I observed a lot solely on Port Royal, and tried to get specific feedback to address.

- FPS was ok. Usually over 30, which is quite nice. However when running or looking a people loading into view caused noticeable pauses in FPS and stuttering.

- Novice level fishing performed admirably, exactly like I remember it in POTCO. However, in Mid-tier fishing, Tuna and Parrot Fish spawns seemed dominant, causing Lionfish to be rare, and the Undead Fish was nonexistent after 3 hours of fishing.

- Potion Making has a steep initial load, even crashing the first time it loaded up, but performed very well once the minigame initiated.

- Sometimes the Port Royal Music would stutter and not load for a few seconds before resuming normally when switching tracks from activities.

- When trying to sell potions to vendors the inventory screen would not load, causing potions and other items to be unsellable.

- 9 crashes in 3 hours. Cause unknown to me.

- Character selection screen seemed to cause a slight color distortion on Richard's skin color.

- Also, The Box Belt item seems to suffer a texture glitch, causing it to appear solid black.

- Clothing selected during character creation does not appear in the customization slots. Essentially, the character is naked, and the clothing in those slots is there on the model, but does not appear in the boxes. Starter Clothes can not be removed and will be deleted upon equipping a different piece. New items removed while grant the naked appearance as normal.

- Richard's mustache (the thin one) briefly appeared during character creation when selected, but as seen in the screenshots above, he does not have it. Cause unknown, and Barber is unavailable for further testing of this phenomena. Breaks me heart.

- Overcoat seems to clip slightly more than I remember.

Also clips on the right side when leg is spread outwards (fishing or sword stance)

- Coat inner texture slightly missing.

However, I'm grateful to the Developers for giving this great semi open opportunity to test the game. I will happily continue looking around and eyeing out bugs I can find. This is not a bashing thread, just me pointing out some observations that might need investigation or praise. Thanks for reading!

Same issues here, mainly the crashes I had at least 10 in those 3 hours. But it was worth it
