Sea of Thieves MMORPG 2016

Just a heads up that the PC version of Sea of Thieves is getting closer for testing purposes.

To be in with a chance to take part you need to be a signed up member of the Insider Programme which is free to join.
Selection for participation in Technical Alpha tests is via survey answers in the majority of cases - so forum participation isn't as heavily weighted as we thought.

It's definitely worth signing up - the PC build is currently being worked on in the Microsoft SHIELD facility where there are over 200 different PC configurations ranging from potato right up to high end rigs and we'll know the results of this process soon hopefully!

You will need to be running a PC with Windows 10 though.

Thought I'd pop in and let you folks know that we'll sending out more Sea of Thieves Technical Alpha Invites later this week! After the invites go out, we'll be sharing the details of our next session, which will be a single slot running this weekend.

Hey guys, I'm actually enlisted in the technical alpha. For an alpha, it's pretty good. The movements are a bit slow and frustrating at times but hopefully that'll be fixed in the future. (Not sure if I'm supposed to be saying that, though!)

You've got to be careful about the NDA, but if it's been mentioned in articles or interviews, or gameplay vids from E3 for instance, it's fine. Rare are pretty keen on keeping the lid on information from the Alpha tests.

I'll post another reminder here for everyone, PC alpha is definitely due out very soon, make sure you're signed up for the Insider Programme to get a chance to take part - selection is down to specific criteria Rare are wanting for each cohort so you might find you don't get invited first time around plus the initial group for testing is likely to be small to make sure the build is stable.
 
To be in with a chance to be invited to the PC Technical Alpha tests, sign up to the Insider Programme then sail on over to the forums and keep an eye on social media channels for when Rare announce the tests - they're starting small with 1k invites but this will grow in much the same way as the Xbox tests did, 67k people are invited for Xbox One so far.

They've tested the game on a huge range of PC setups from potatoes to massive 10k builds to ensure it runs well for as wide a range of players as possible, you'll need to be running Win 10 with the Anniversary update to access the test and final game.
