Second Quest Glitch

I have tried over and over the second quest where you must sink a Navy Ferret to prove loyalty to Gibbs, the second part killing 4 Navy people in Wildwoods on Tortuga, which I had no problem with. But, every time I fire on a Navy ship the app crashes seconds later. What should I do?
 
I tried ignoring it and doing other quests, but the Voodoo Doll Quest also requires me to sink Bulwarks, which I cannot do either. Every time I fire on a ship the game crashes.
