hmm, maybe they should just buy a better server host??? If they do not have enough money then I am more than happy to give a donation but play time got to go ASAP.

This is not a bug, this is a server overload and the devs not being ready for the massive amount of traffic to the servers. And btw donations to the devs directly is complete legal. Now if it was on the site directly then that would illegal.

You're asking for patience when the entire point of a playtime is being patient. If that patience is over-extended, don't be surprised to see criticism.

Ok I'll rephrase... the first day of most testing stages for all games are rough. Whether that is bugs/server issues etc

Here is an example of something the Devs can do. Also have you looked into streaming on twitch? If you can take donations that way. Also as long as you are not selling the game there should be no problem. The worst thing that can happen is Disney sends you and cease and desist letter.
 
Don't be surprised to have your criticism rebuffed either when the mere existence of this project is essentially a gift. I know it sucks to not be able to play during your scheduled time, but it is the first day back and these sorts of unforeseen issues don't really come as a surprise. The answer isn't always to throw more money at it until it works either, the servers must be stress-tested and optimized where bottlenecks occur... which is one of the points of beta testing to begin with.

If you want to play without interruptions then you may wish to wait until further down the line when things are fleshed out a bit more.

That's not how it works but ok... There steps to these things. Once again if "DONATE NOW" buttons are not flashed everywhere on the site there should be no issues. I suggest doing some research on how Mincraft servers were able to sell in game items without being shut down.
 
Also I think Toontown rewritten had Playtimes at some point does anyone know how they were to break away from this system?
