It would be sweet to see the light sloop get the upgrades it's other couterparts have. And you could turn it into the StormChaser.

Also make the enemy ships only attack when they are attacked. I get followed by literally, 20 ships when trying to sink 1. It's way to hard just to sink 1.
EITC and Navy ships attack you if they know you're a pirate. The only ships that actively seek you out before that are the undead ships.
Otherwise, you're always the one to fire the first shot. It makes more sense that they'd hunt you down, you're trying to steal their stuff. You should know what you're signing up for when you attack a vessel like that.
My advice would be to pay attention to where you're piloting your ship when you're in combat. You can and probably will pull in other nearby ships if you're careless. I like to broadside one ship and one ship alone from a small distance, then I let them come to me. This reduces the chances of my ship being outnumbered and keeps the situation at a level that I can handle. That way I can take on whole groups one by one, rather than running around with a big cluster of ships that prevents other people from finding the ships they need for their quests.
I am just suggesting that because that was the way the original game ran. They never made it 20 on one against one ship. I played from the begining to the end and never had that happen. It's just a suggestion. I would really love that idea for the light sloop. Shooting 3 broadsides of a ammo type.
I played back in the day and I distinctly remember being attacked by a squad of ships because I was a careless seven year old that didn't know how the game worked. I just sailed and attacked whatever ships were near me be they player (because I didn't understand that player ships are immune to each other), EITC, Navy, or what have you.
I was simply trying to provide to you what has proven to me to be a working strategy to hopefully help make things a little easier on you without having many massive changes to the game that affect more than just one person.
Light sloops being able to be upgraded like that could be an interesting concept, I suppose. I always figured they were cheap because they could not be upgraded, their intention being starter ships. But that's just my two cents.
Edit: Fixed a capitalization issue.
Thanks for the tips. Yeah. And it might be a little easier than the war ships. I know my friend said it was easy to overshoot ships. You would be able to hit close and far with exotic ammo. And it would be cheap to upgrade and get the upgrades.
Prolly less cost of requirements since they are so small. It wouldn't take as much to upgrade. Thinking of it if you could do it to all the lights. That would be crazy. I remember on a forum, someone suggested Greek Fire. But it's like, we have firebrand for a reason. To set them on fire. But it is more of a flamethrower. At the cost of...what?
Weaker potency of these upgrades? Fewer upgrades accessible to those ships because of them being so small?
