Question Ship Visibility from Islands

Is it possible to see ships sailing around the islands?

If not then will it ever be possible?
I recall that it was with the original.

Not quite.
I just remember once being able to see the ships that were around the island I was on in the original game.

Ohh ok I get it, seeing them circle around FROM the island. Hehe brain fart. Yes it was a thing back then.
I actually did see an EITC War Galleon from Padres the other day from the docks though, maybe it was a glitch?

Yes, but you cannot see ships form big islands like Port Royal, Tortuga, or Padres
at least I can’t

It used to be. Haven't really played attention to that recently.

Ships would sail through Outcast when I was there , haven't seen that happen In some time !

It was taken out of potco to reduce lag. I’m not certain but I think it also was a thing in earlier beta of tlopo that was also taken out to reduce lag.

I remember the days in potco where you could see and chat with crew on another ship if you were very close by. Was a super cool feature that got tossed because of lag on busy servers.

I did really enjoy that back in POTCO! It'll be exciting to see how far TLOPO comes with new features over time. Chatting with other ships was pretty cool!
