Slow and stalled loading on launcher

Ahoy!
After the latest update, I have tried and tried to log on but to no avail.
The launcher' window shows the yellow bar and says "Updating X amount @ x amount".
After way too long, it stops altogether.
I have re-downloaded the launcher, etc, and nothing seems to work.
I am on a Mac, 10.13.2.
Please do not say "go to -- https://piratesforums.co/threads/me...-loading-screens-30.18761/page-10#post-293219 " -- as that only puts one into a loop of no help posts!

Fixed it! Finally thought back a few months and recalled that the MacOS update had reset my Firewall to ON.
Went again to System Preferences, Security, and turned off Firewall -- and I am back in business!
