Out of common courtesy, when I board to wave or simply say Crew.

If there's an active crew going, they will see me and add me. The captain has a lot going on and shouldn't have to ask for crew all the time. I know some people ignore the requests but honestly, you're just reducing your own rewards.

Unless they are level 50 and maxed everything.

I'm not able to click on other players and nobody shows up in the nearby tab for me, therefore speaking is a necessity.

I've never even seen the nearby tab. I've tried to find it, but I swear it's a myth.
