Question Stability Issues

So I'm sure by now most, if not all people, know about the memory leak issues in the game. I really enjoy the game all the way up to the point of that dreaded crash. I can only get about 20 minutes of play at max (if I'm lucky and only stay around the empty islands). I already assigned the highest priority to the game, but I'm not sure of any other work around for this. Does anyone know of any news to a possible fix in progress or any other work arounds for this problem because I mainly just sail around and I end up losing about half of my loot because of the crashes and it's just a little frustrating. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Here's a collection of tips I've used or heard of that you haven't already mentioned:

• Turn vsync on in the game settings (check box at the bottom of the General tab) - this is what fixed the game majorly for me
• Turn down your graphics settings
• Turn off rain particles
  
• Turn off the sounds if necessary
