Suggestion Storm Chaser Buff

As many of you may know, ship upgrading/customization play a very important role when plundering or participating in SvS on the high seas. However there happens to be a strong, and consistent preference in what ships pirates typically get; this mainly being the Fortune Hunter and Skull and Bones upgrades.

While every ship upgrade is typically utilized and has its strong suits, I can't help but feel that the Storm Chaser is noticeably underpowered in comparison among the other upgrades. Throughout upgrades IV, V, and VI the Storm Chaser receives no additional bonuses to it's speed or turning (it's "strong suits") and while this is similar to the FireStorm upgrade in terms of them both having a static value of speed and turning the FireStorm receives a much more generous increase to it's Firebrand broadsides (From 20%-40%-60%).

I do not have the statistics on how many pirates purchased a Storm Chaser upgrade, but from my countless days playing and sailing I have only seen a few War Sloops that would even bother with this upgrade. It is with this that I suggest that a buff be made to the Storm Chaser upgrade to see more use on the high seas. I suggest either a broadside increase from 45% to 50%, or a slight increase to its speed and turning capabilities to better stack up against its FireStorm counterpart.

Please let me know if you all might have any other suggestions of buffing the storm chaser, or if you are opposed, please leave your thoughts as to why the Storm Chaser should remain as it is.

I used storm chaser almost exclusively and it was my favorite upgrade choice. I do agree that there should be a slight increase (no more than 15%) to speed and turning but I think the broadsides should stay the same. A 45% percent broadside was already very powerful as I was able to do around 2000 damage per lightning shot and maybe even more. I was easily able to destroy most normal enemy ships with just one volley of a broadside and I think buffing them would make it overpowered.

I tried to make the different upgrades across all my Pirates and totally agree on the fact that it doesn't change for the last 3 upgrades is kind of weak... Going with its roots I'd give it another bump to speed and turning.... Also taking into account what James mentioned... If you had your broadsides correctly pointed in the skill menu... You could fly around and cause complete chaos while doing respectable damage (especially with the right ram equipped). I think the entire ship upgrade will need to be combed over a bit since Disney basically tossed it out like most updates they released and didn't perfect it or monitor it

As a whole all of them, not just storm chaser... My opinion on them all is they all can be fine tuned a bit before being released... Definetely needs the additions to storm chaser as you explained though I think it's a great suggestion

I see; Before I make another thread what would your opinion be on incorporating a new ship upgrade/new cannonball type?

An idea I had was using the Ice Shot from cannon defense, and perhaps a ice themed ship upgrade. Perhaps instead of slowing ships down by shooting the water it could make them unable to turn once enough would damage the hull. Obviously this shot would do very little damage (50-100)

Quite like that idea, actually.
