svs

Honorable Pirate
Just so you guys remember that there is part of the game thats called svs and its god awfully buggy and there is quite a few people that are wanting this fixed so they can enjoy it. I have been svs'ing for 30 minutes every time i sink my camera ends up sideways or i end up under the boat or in the ocean WAYYY above the island so I drop to my death. Smh its horrible, I think fixing what is already there should be a priority instead of adding new content.

With you on hoping SvS will be fixed soon. It's been said many times before: the people working on new content are a separate group from those working on bugs. I support this because it is clear that the intent of the project is to evolve the game not simply bring it back as it was. The only priorities between new and old content are that the old must be working enough to be compatible with the new before the new can be added.

I keep seeing this excuse recycled over and over but yet we aren't seeing the majority of the passive skills being fixed nor Cannon Defense nor SvS nor hackers hacking the game. Everyone appreciates the new content but at what point as a community do you stop and ask if something is wrong?

The "new content" team is pumping out new content meanwhile the "bug fixer" team seems either dead or non existent or busy with something else

Thank you!
I agree 100%! If they are separate teams, then there shouldn't be any bugs or at least they should be getting fixed properly. They shouldn't have anything to focus on other than getting the kinks worked out of the game. Which obviously by my massive crashes everyday isn't being fixed. It's frustrating, all they are doing is trying to blind people with shiny new weapons and a lousy new area, instead of working on the preexisting parts of the games, like quest rewards, lag, crashing. Etc.

Its not insulting to ask if something is wrong or if life is getting in the way. Anyone with a brain and who has been here longer than a month knows the new content is being rolled out a hundred times faster then the main bugfixes we all want to see.

The following reasons could be at play:
  • The issues like Cannon Defense or certain Skill Effects, Invasions and other things like quests not working have proven to be hard to fix. That is why its taking long
  • They are busy in real life and don't have much time to focus on it
  • They are low on motivation to fix them. Maybe? No idea.
  • Despite being told the new content doesn't effect bugfix time, the dev team for bug fixes might have to check the new content for bugs and thus, takes away some of their time
  • Members may have left the team in private or announced they are not going to be here as much anymore?
  • Procrastination.

See we as players DON'T know the situation because we aren't told the status of anything other than generic answers.

When this game first opened massive bugs way bigger than any of these listed off were fixed within days yet now its slowed down to a snails pace. Why is that?

Its also okay to say that "We are still looking into those issues and trying to find a fix for it" because we don't expect TLOPO's team to know every last little thing since they didn't make the game. No one will make fun of. No one will laugh, and if that is the case, people will have more empathy for the situation.

I believe that it's the tired cliches of you start with the "low hanging fruit" and "90% of your troubles come from 10% of your problems ". Disney also had difficulty with many of the same issues even though they had paid employees working on it. Yes, the game is buggy. The game was buggy in 2013 also. In my opinion the developers have done and continue to do a jaw dropping and eye popping job, particularly when you consider it's all in their spare time.

In the past month alone there have been 7 patches, and only one of those was a feature release (there were 15 the month before with 2 feature releases). I can understand being a bit frustrated if you aren't seeing fixes for the bugs which you consider most pressing, but to say the team hasn't been working on bugs is wrong (and frankly demoralizing).

If you aren't seeing fixes for a bug, chances are it is either a difficult bug to fix, not a priority at the moment, or unknown to the developers. As reiterated above, they are volunteers working in their spare time to provide the community with a free game. Patience is a virtue.

As long as people like Davy come by to give us updates then thats fine enough for me. I just like to be re-assured that things will get fixed at all like Cannon Defense and etc. Im not particular about when. Its re-assuring to hear word on it. Thanks.
