Terms And Rules

We try to be very flexible and lenient, and only add rules as they become necessary. That said, we'd like to make everyone aware we are going to start enforcing a few within the next few days. The new rules have not been added yet, but a list of them will always be available at https://piratesforums.co/help/terms

We feel it is important that everyone is able to voice their clear and honest opinion about anything, and our rules will not hinder that (within reason).

Our current rules are as follows:
  • No bias
    • We do not allow any bias towards any group or individual. We all have different thoughts and opinions and they must all be respected.
  • Links
    • We allow linking to sites with appropriate content. Do not link to sites that include anything that isn't family friendly. Additionally, will censor any competitive site that is not affiliated directly with Disney. Links to the wiki are allowed as it is a rich resource, full of information that may commonly be referred to by others, and that site does not take away from our own community.
Additionally, unfortunately we must place some restrictions on signatures. We want to ensure they are smaller than most posts so they do not distract from the post themselves. As such, we have decided not to allow YouTube videos and large images in signatures. You may still post YouTube videos in The Ship Yard, or link to them in your status, but we do not want them in signatures at this time. You may resize images to fit a smaller area if we deem them too large.

As always, if you have any comments, questions, or suggestions, just reply below.
Thanks for your understanding,

Sorry, we just feel it can become a bit distracting :) You are free to make an individual thread for the video in the "Ship Yard" section. At some point in the future, we might be able to reduce the size of videos in signatures, but it is not a priority right now.

Videos can also be posted on the "screenshots and videos" section

The rules have been posted (https://piratesforums.co/help/terms). By posting on this forum, you agree to all rules at the aforementioned page. We reserve the right to add, remove, or modify any rule(s) at any time. We will attempt to make notifications prior to such changes.

Thank you.

Thanks for the info Davy. They all sound great to me. The signature videos were a bit distracting. Maybe a trade-off for the people that really like a particular picture of video associated with them but not necesarily an avatar might be the ability to make posts within the profiles at some point.

Under this clause in our rules, we are looking into adding this.

Abuse of Site Systems
You may not maliciously add, modify, or remove content posted by yourself or others. If you are found, at our discretion, to be editing posts with arbitrary intentions, removing posts to disrupt this site, posting spam content to the site, or otherwise causing problems, it could result in removal of site privileges and/or a temporary or permanent ban.

And add..

; or post content that is disruptive to the site or the community such as other sites that otherwise we find disruptive or certain games that we find disruptive, or that otherwise we find disruptive at our own discretion.

The reason we are adding this is because our community is not that huge yet to take big hits, it seems from time time when someone wants to try a new games, they seem to want to pull many in the community with them. Again lets make sure we understand - we are not censoring games, what we are doing is protecting our community. And only things that we find reasonably disruptive, not necessarily banning anything in specific. Which is otherwise good to maintain the community running. We are not pointing fingers to anyones, we know a few people have done this. All we are doing is making sure our community stay strong and afloat. As a side note we don't have any problem with people playing anything they like, what we have a problem with is when they try to pull others out of the community as we define as disruptive.

Thanks for understanding. And let me know if you have any concerns.
