The Pirate Legendarium: Liberation - Teaser(?)

Tereysa de las Sombras

Honorable Pirate
Greetings, people of the forums and the Pirates Online Community. I come to you with the announcement of a new project. A joint effort between myself and Captain Jack Truesilver: The Pirate Legendarium. Prepare for an announcement of said project.

ABOUT

The Pirate Legendarium is a large-scale writing project by Tereysa de las Sombras and Captain Jack Truesilver that aims to deliver the experience of the Pirates of the Caribbean Online/The Legend of Pirates Online story in the form of an epic novelisation. The project’s ambition is to write the War of Jolly Roger in its entirety, combining all elements of the story in a more logical and concise way for the enjoyment of any avid fans of the game. The first story arc is the Liberation of the Black Pearl.

Release date? Well, we’re going to be doing it one chapter at a time following a plan that will be thought out in advance. A constant release schedule isn’t something we can guarantee, but we will let you know if production is being put on hold, or if we’ve just decided to end it early. Hopefully that will not happen considering how many ideas we have for this. Rather than post one thread for each chapter, we're going to have a megathread here on the forums where all the chapters will be stored, and it will be updated with each release… it would be great if we could get that pinned eventually. We’re… honestly not even sure how many people are going to read this… if any… at all… So do us a favour and spread the word, if you will.

FEATURES

As a novelisation, we're going to making some large changes to the Black Pearl Story Quest. I daresay that there are actually improvements.
  • A massive overhaul of the Black Pearl Story Quest.
    • More interesting characters. Members of the Black Pearl Crew, GMs, and other side characters who were lacking in depth will be fleshed out further.
    • More significant plot points. Character development and progression are of paramount importance to any good story. There is going to be a lot less meaningless padding.
    • More glorious battles. The kind of action you’d expect from a story as fantastical as this.
    • Less fetch quests. The protagonists are not errand boys and girls.
    • Less pointless tasks. Goals shall be accomplished in more pragmatic and entertaining ways. The protagonists are pirates, after all.
    • Less plot holes. Why were release orders for the Pearl ever written in the first place anyway?
  • Events such as Treasure Fleets, boarding Flagships, and even encounters with Bosses are woven into the plot.
  • GM Characters from the Original Era of Pirates Online return to the story as allies and enemies alike.
  • New additions to the Lore to enrich the story and world.
    • Previously unseen applications of the Dark Arts. They’re about to get a lot darker.
    • Further development of enemy factions and antagonistic forces.
    • New characters to add another layer of depth that will tie the Story Quests together.
    • More weapons, ships, and outfits (clearly we have our priorities straight).
    • And more.
You can find some additional information here, because the character limit is a pain. Things like characters... and that.
