Do ye too be feeling the spray of the sea soften as of late? As if the tides have remained calm for but a moment too long? Is the Caribbean being tamed by ritual and routine to the point that each passing day on the beach feels... the same? Have ye sought treasure day after day only to end up exactly where ye started? Has the once bright eyed prospect of life as a pirate faded with the mundane reality of living as one?
It would seem, for the old salts of the Caribbean, this has become the case. And in one of their relaxed complacency, they went and underestimated a great and terrible power that had been looming in the shadows... and angered them dearly.

The British Royal Navy.

For the Voyager had been instigating fights between the French and the Spanish for too long, and in their inevitable weakening in doing so, England only grew more and more powerful, preparing their great assault on the pirate isles of the Caribbean waters.
Readying for the Armadas coming, a Major General made a crucial mistake in his time surveying the beach of Tortuga.

This threat however, remains, and only together can the Pirates of the Caribbean keep their waters free. Only together, can they battle back against the Armadas of England, and their good friends, the East India Trading Company.
it is thus that this time, the Voyager does not ask the pirates to come together to battle one another, but to battle together, against their common enemy.

To my great reluctance, I doubt without at least 700 pirates will we outlast The Royal Navy in the end.

Easily. We don't have 700 playing at once recently but there are definitely at least 700 active members in this community. If everyone logged on at the exact same time, it'd be over one thousand for sure.
