Wait, so by leveling Sailing, that allows you to get better sailing loot? As with cannon and cannon rams my guess? That would make sense as I have leveled sailing a few levels since I started fishing.

The looting system drops items that require a level 5 higher or less than your current one.

E.g I have level 15 sword, I can get any sword that requires lvl 1-20
 
Well... Be prepared for a list. Most of these are repeats because I haven't screened most of the good items due to crashing on a bright blue silk vest and a famed while trying to famed so.. many of these are mediocre.
