As much as I would want to believe we are simply outliers and that we'll get them eventually, looking at the sheer amount of screenshots my friend Lawrence Stormfury had for me made me believe otherwise. He's screenshotted every single loot skull chest he's gathered in the past 5 hours of looting. **Warning: This is going to be a long list of loot skull screenshots.**

Here they are:

As much as I want to admit that we're simply victims of bad luck, this list is comprised of over 25 loot skull chests, all of them having nothing but junk and some haunted bones. There are also another 5 loot skull chests that contained junk in them that he forgot to screenshot, bringing the loot skull amount to well over 30+ in this one run alone. Only one contained any famed weapon, and that was the Privateer's Bayonet, one that requires only a level 22 gun.

The weapon with the red box highlight specifically around it is the Privateer's Bayonet: http://prntscr.com/hw5o79

This is to show that Lawrence's collection of famed and legendary items has no cursed blades other than the Nautilus he got after completing the Raven's Cove story quest: http://prntscr.com/hw5obn

I have a feeling the loot is going to get a little better once they finally remove these bones because they take up space to what could be something else.

ITT: People who don't understand basic statistics. You or your friend's anecdotal evidence doesn't demonstrate the drop rates are broken. If you looted for 72 hours straight you still wouldn't be entitled to a famed or legendary. That's simply not how the system is set up. Your looting RNG doesn't increase based on time. It's random. Random isn't fair it's random. I'm sure each time a drop of any loot chest (skull or otherwise) there is a roll and either you get good loot or you don't. While looting for extended periods of time gives you multiple chances of looting a legendary or famed, previous and future drops don't affect each other, they are you could say self-contained. So if someone comes in kills one enemy and gets a famed or legendary weapon, good for them that's the nature of statistics. Some of you are being very ungrateful and entitled, while yes you can bring up your concerns to the developers, being aggressive and posing quasi-threats to the game developers stating how they're failing and soon the community will abandon them is bull. Personally, if you think this game is unfair feel free to go create your own remake, for free. They aren't favoring anyone, you aren't entitled to anything, this is a game, it should not be about putting in "hours of hard work" to obtain a bunch of pixels because they are famed or legendary. Have fun with your friends, enjoy the rebirth of a game we all used to cherish and love, don't get so hung up on your precious loot.

Last thing I am going to say on this thread. Some of the people aren't understanding this topic. I stated it's a very SLIM chance to getting even a rare cursed blade. I did not say anything about LEGENDARY or FAMED. I stated that the loot drop rate for just even a RARE is hard to obtain. It shouldn't be so hard to get a sword of decay with awful stats and either any other blade in that tier of rarity. FOR PEOPLE barking about this thread saying that they are right and other people are wrong, I think I understand now how TLOPO's drop rate system works now amongst Cursed Blades. But for other players to respond in a more negative way you cannot judge what you think you know amongst other players, that's a lack of judgement. I made this thread for the reason to get answers. I got my answer, thank you. #Respect #Tlopogang. An open discussion is to talk about a topic and get answers or solutions. Now is my starting-topic 101% correct? maybe maybe not but I will not say I'm correct out of a wide community of players and staff developers. To make this clear for the people that haven't been so lucky I think we need to push our judgement aside and focus on the looting aspect. Yes some players have looted for hours and 1 guy frankly looted for 53 hours and didn't get much out of it than he expected, is it ridiculous? No that is where we push our judgement aside and let the games new system take it's toll. Well I got some answers that I needed :) peace!

I agree, rare weapon drop rates seem much lower than they were in POTCO. Famed maybe slightly lower, but then again, famed were always difficult to come by in POTCO.

TLOPO are some of the worse devs on the spectrum. They won't take donations, or any kind of money, so they can hide behind "It's a free game, guys! Give us some slack!" (Trust me, I see that excuse alot. Not from Devs sure, but still.)

Overall, they can't really manage updates well, loot well, or anything that involves making their own things, whether it be ingame content or code. (Remember that Bounty Hunter island? Yeah, me neither.)

They know we can't just hop ship, because there's no other Pirates privates server out there. (Not counting another remake for obvious reasons.) so they can do what they want to the game, which includes skewering loot tables.

It makes it great when the devs re-release cursed blades, and everyone's like: "WOW! AMAZING DEVS!"
and then they brag about player count. No, believe it or not, you DID hit 1000 users earlier, you just drove them all away. (As evidenced by people on my friend's list that were gone for two months or longer.)

The point of this rant is, the DEVELOPERS. (Not mods) are either so incompetent they can mess everything up while porting code from another game. (not suprised.) Or are intentionally doing this to us.

but hey, can't wait for people to not read this and just blindly defend the con artists, because reading just ain't cool! :fo:

I'm gonna throw out a HUGE disagree, I think the cursed famed drop rate is just fine. There's already a couple Blade's of abyss out there. There's a screen shot of a WEB or Behemoth not sure which. and I personally got two famed within 48 hours of finishing ravens about 7 hours playtime. and I got a Ripsaw Blade and a Dark Mutineer.

There's things you can do to optimize your chances of getting them, some of which I'm keeping to myself ;).
First of all - Thrall Hall, Gold Room, and South Idol should never be your whole arsenal or spots don't get me wrong they're great but chances are they're already full. Here's a map of tormenta with all the good spots outlined.

Another good spot is in the Cave of Lost Souls, there's a line of like 4 ghosts you can hit with one flaming skull.

Two famed within 48 HOURS! That is insane! If anything, it proved my point!

Bridge is where I got Ripsaw, Sharkfang, and Doomrattler. Along with a Bejeweled broadsword. Rip the bejeweled. The Ripsaw, Sharkfang, and Bejeweled were received within 30 minutes of each other, and roughly 72 hours after I completed RC. But it took me extended looting to find them, and I was quite discouraged.

I never thought of the Cave of Lost Souls, thanks for that info!

I understand the need to make the obtaining of the high value weapons challenging, on the other hand the low level of gold and other loot of reasonable quality being dropped is very discouraging. What I call level 1 weapons should not be included in three skull chests. And a pirate does not need thousands of cards in their cheat hands. Which accummulate at an alarming rate given the drop system. I appreciate the increased level of difficulty of the enemy but the corresponding loot value is not present. I have been known to kill Timothy Darton 6 or 7 times in a row with no loot drop at all, as an example.

I personally feel that the value of loot drops should increase with the level of difficulty of the enemy being defeated. Thereby locations such as Tormenta and Ravens Cove would not only be the most difficult but also the most lucrative.

This was an observation I had even during POTCO days. We love playing the game, but as pirates we also want to be rewarded for our efforts.

Wow. I usually just lurk here but I can't keep my mouth shut. Let's break this post down shall we? (So I can't be accused of not reading it all)

TLOPO are some of the worse devs on the spectrum.
First off, this is just plain rude and mean to say. Worst devs on the spectrum? They are doing this project out of love for the game and community, with zero reward other than the knowledge that MOST people enjoy their hard work.

They won't take donations, or any kind of money, so they can hide behind "It's a free game, guys! Give us some slack!" (Trust me, I see that excuse alot. Not from Devs sure, but still.)
They don't take money or donations because it keeps them from being SUED by Disney.

Overall, they can't really manage updates well, loot well, or anything that involves making their own things, whether it be ingame content or code. (Remember that Bounty Hunter island? Yeah, me neither.)
Can't manage updates well? How do you figure? Oh, the updates are inconveniently timed or take too long for you? Well excuse the Devs for fixing bugs and improving the game. This is BETA. Can't manage loot? Why? Because it's been less than a week and you haven't found what you wanted? Boohoo. Can't manage anything that involves making their own things? Well first off, they have REPEATEDLY stated that they are mainly focusing their efforts on fixing the ORIGINAL POTCO CONTENT before adding anything NEW, but we've still been getting great little new content updates. Isla Escondita is a long term future content update. Do you think they can make a huge new island overnight? Again, they've stated they are working on original content BEFORE adding anything new.

They know we can't just hop ship, because there's no other Pirates privates server out there. (Notcounting another remake for obvious reasons.) so they can do what they want to the game, which includes skewering loot tables.
Are you implying the community is stupid and desperate enough that if the Devs were mistreating players people wouldn't leave to find another game? Yeah look what happened to the other remake.

What motivation would they have to skewer loot tables? Do you think the Devs sit gleefully cackling behind their computers at people's frustration over not finding what they want? No. Again, Raven's Cove has been out less than a week and people are expecting cursed blades like they are entitled to them. They are SUPPOSE to be hard to find!

It makes it great when the devs re-release cursed blades, and everyone's like: "WOW! AMAZING DEVS!"

I doubt hardly anyone has been "drove away" because of low cursed blade drop rates. There were 1,000 players online at once because there was just a massive , highly anticipated update just released and everyone wanted to be online to play.

The point of this rant is, the DEVELOPERS. (Not mods) are either so incompetent they can mess everything up while porting code from another game. (not suprised.) Or are intentionally doing this to us.

The Developers are FAR FROM incompetent! What such a small team of VOLUNTEERS has done in such a short amount of time (yes short) is nothing short of amazing.

I might be mistaken (fairly certain I am not however), but I believe they've been rewriting the server side code FROM SCRATCH, so it isn't like they just copied all of POTCOs code and flipped an on switch.

Again, what motivation AT ALL would they have to intentionally program the game poorly? Are they cyber sadists?

So sir/madam, I have carefully read your post before replying. :2 cents:

Okay, my turn.

"First off, this is just plain rude and mean to say." Oh boohoo, as you'd say.

"Worst devs on the spectrum? They are doing this project out of love for the game and community, with zero reward other than the knowledge that MOST people enjoy their hard work."
True. But you COULD do more than rip assets, and put them in buggily.

"They don't take money or donations because it keeps them from being SUED by Disney."
Got me beat there.

"Can't manage updates well? How do you figure? Oh, the updates are inconveniently timed or take too long for you?"
More along the lines that Devs have to shut down the ENTIRE game to update. Imagine if all games did that.

"Can't manage loot? Why? Because it's been less than a week and you haven't found what you wanted? Boohoo."

No, actually. I'm complaining about the fact that NORMAL CHESTS commonly give better loot than SKULLS.

"What motivation would they have to skewer loot tables? Do you think the Devs sit gleefully cackling behind their computers at people's frustration over not finding what they want?"
Check the drama revolving YouTube. That can give you an example of what I mean.

"They are SUPPOSE to be hard to find!"

Yes, so are famed. And yet, all I've gotten was rares from hours of grinding. Keep in mind, I've found a Bloodfire Sabre from a pouch much easier than a cursed. (Being fair, I wasn't really looking for one.

"I doubt hardly anyone has been "drove away" because of low cursed blade drop rates."

You're probably right. They were probably driven away for other reasons, as the examples I listed were last online TWO MONTHS ago.

"The Developers are FAR FROM incompetent!"

Except for ignoring the community.

"I might be mistaken (fairly certain I am not however), but I believe they've been rewriting the server side code FROM SCRATCH."
And why would they waste that much time?

"Again, what motivation AT ALL would they have to intentionally program the game poorly? Are they cyber sadists?"
That, or they are bad devs..?

"So sir/madam, I have carefully read your post before replying."
It sure seems like it. but hey at least you tried..

Your turn.

And why would they waste that much time?

Because only the client side was recoverable from POTCO. If we didn't "waste that much time" creating the server side, there would be no game.

What doesn't add up to me is this, if cursed legendaries are meant to be very hard to obtain then how come people manage to get it within days? Someone is always going to bring up the excuse of "Oh it's RNG loot!" but I see it as some stupid excuse to hide behind. If it takes months to get a cursed legendary, I'm okay with that. What really angers me is if I see someone who gets a cursed legendary in a matter of hours. Where the hell is my luck? Where's everyone's compensation for looting for prolonged periods of time? Why the hell are all the Loot Skulls giving so much garbage? These questions I will probably not even get any answers at all for... I am a fan of Raven's Cove, but I am not wanting to spend so much time on a game that is keep throwing me garbage after garbage amounts of loot for the time spent. And to the people who get legendaries after a few hours and have that bloody nerve to say "Oh it's easy!" I have three words for you, YOU KNOW NOTHING!
