What doesn't add up to me is this, if cursed legendaries are meant to be very hard to obtain then how come people manage to get it within days? Someone is always going to bring up the excuse of "Oh it's RNG loot!" but I see it as some stupid excuse to hide behind. If it takes months to get a cursed legendary, I'm okay with that. What really angers me is if I see someone who gets a cursed legendary in a matter of hours. Where the hell is my luck? Where's everyone's compensation for looting for prolonged periods of time? Why the hell are all the Loot Skulls giving so much garbage? These questions I will probably not even get any answers at all for... I am a fan of Raven's Cove, but I am not wanting to spend so much time on a game that is keep throwing me garbage after garbage amounts of loot for the time spent. And to the people who get legendaries after a few hours and have that bloody nerve to say "Oh it's easy!" I have three words for you, YOU KNOW NOTHING!
YEAH!

Loot is rng and legendaries are easy to find... just loot and eventually you'll get something might not be today or tomorrow but eventually you will get something

I understand that loot is RNG, and you're not guaranteed to get anything good out loot skulls. However, rather than overhauling the loot skull chests, we can add higher tier containers that are rarer than loot skulls but are guaranteed to have better loot. There is a loot rating system in the game for all the containers. Loot pouches have a loot rating of 1, loot chests 2, and loot skull chests a rating of 3. No matter how crappy or good the loot in any of those is, the loot rating is always the same. Here's an idea Lawrence and I devised that could solve the issue.

  • Tier 1: Loot Pouch Guaranteed Crude (1-2) + Possible Common (1) / VERY RARE Rare (1)
  • Tier 2: Loot Chest Guaranteed Common (1-2) + Possible Rare (1) / VERY RARE Famed (1)
  • Tier 3: Loot Skull Chest Guaranteed Rare (1-2) + Possible Famed (1) / VERY RARE Legendary (1)
  • Tier 4 : Gold Skull Chest Guaranteed Famed (1-2) + RARE Legendary
  • Tier 5: Diamond Skull Chest Guaranteed Legendary (1) + POSSIBILITY for an extra famed

This would have the loot rating system make more sense as there are 5 levels of weapon rankings, each aligned with their loot ranking. The tier 4 and 5 chests of course would be more rare than the loot skull chest. This system would also stop junk from spawning in good containers, and vice versa with bad containers.

YES!

Wow. I usually just lurk here but I can't keep my mouth shut. Let's break this post down shall we? (So I can't be accused of not reading it all)

First off, this is just plain rude and mean to say. Worst devs on the spectrum? They are doing this project out of love for the game and community, with zero reward other than the knowledge that MOST people enjoy their hard work.

They don't take money or donations because it keeps them from being SUED by Disney.

Can't manage updates well? How do you figure? Oh, the updates are inconveniently timed or take too long for you? Well excuse the Devs for fixing bugs and improving the game. This is BETA. Can't manage loot? Why? Because it's been less than a week and you haven't found what you wanted? Boohoo. Can't manage anything that involves making their own things? Well first off, they have REPEATEDLY stated that they are mainly focusing their efforts on fixing the ORIGINAL POTCO CONTENT before adding anything NEW, but we've still been getting great little new content updates. Isla Escondita is a long term future content update. Do you think they can make a huge new island overnight? Again, they've stated they are working on original content BEFORE adding anything new.

Are you implying the community is stupid and desperate enough that if the Devs were mistreating players people wouldn't leave to find another game? Yeah look what happened to the other remake.

What motivation would they have to skewer loot tables? Do you think the Devs sit gleefully cackling behind their computers at people's frustration over not finding what they want? No. Again, Raven's Cove has been out less than a week and people are expecting cursed blades like they are entitled to them. They are SUPPOSE to be hard to find!

I doubt hardly anyone has been "drove away" because of low cursed blade drop rates. There were 1,000 players online at once because there was just a massive , highly anticipated update just released and everyone wanted to be online to play.

The Developers are FAR FROM incompetent! What such a small team of VOLUNTEERS has done in such a short amount of time (yes short) is nothing short of amazing.

I might be mistaken (fairly certain I am not however), but I believe they've been rewriting the server side code FROM SCRATCH, so it isn't like they just copied all of POTCOs code and flipped an on switch.

Again, what motivation AT ALL would they have to intentionally program the game poorly? Are they cyber sadists?

So sir/madam, I have carefully read your post before replying. :2 cents:

I love how everyone suddenly seems to be an expert on our list of priorities, our internal protocols, the hoops we have jumped through to get to where we are now, and our staff structure.

While I'm not saying the forums HAS to be devoid of any negative criticisms of the project - in fact we encourage constructive criticism that both IDENTIFIES a problem and SUGGESTS a solution - it's pretty disheartening that someone would openly assume and think some of the things said previously in this thread.

Do let it be known that we do have our own list of priorities in place to correct bugs/glitches all while simultaneously developing new content for the community.

At this point, it's clear this discussion isn't going to take a healthy turn. Believe what you must, just know that this is a volunteer team of developers and other staff that devote their free time and money to this - and we expect nothing in return.
