Nearly 5 years ago on October 12th, 2010 Davy launched this Forums!

Throughout our Pirate's lives it's been a great place to share everything from our epic Loot, our Brights, our Legendary Weapons, our Ships, our Level-ups, our triumphs, PVP, SVS and so much more.

The Forums was here to share the good times along with the bad times like the announcement of Potco closing. Forums continued to hustle with many hard workers behind the scenes working diligently to try and save the fate of our pirates in the Caribbean. All of this happened from this Forums!

The Forums has been very helpful in many, many ways to people.
How about the times you couldn't get into the game for some reason like when your account was banned from mispelling a word (true story, lol) or when you were planning an event or letting your friends know when you could meetup?
The Forums was here for you. (Davy was here for you)

It has been almost 2 years since Potco closed. Remember how devastated folks were?
@Davy Darkrage had the choice to close the Forums or to keep it going. We're still here!!!
Davy is a very busy man. He chose to keep the Forums alive for you and for all of us.

Maybe some night he'll get home late from school or work, exhausted. He sits down and sees the Forums needing him, needing work and he may think, "Why am I still doing this?".. He's doing this for all of us.

Davy, This was by far the best forum and the best source for information on POTCO when the game was running. There was always new information being posted and tons of helpful people. This was the first place to go when stuck or when the game was down.

The culture you built was based on cooperation and passion for the game and which became a real community.

Thank you for both building and maintaining the community. POTCO not only lives in memory but also lives here.
 
I appreciate you Davy, and I'll extend appreciations for everyone who hasn't posted yet.
I can lead a horse to coffee, but I can't make them drink. :cheers:
I did write a song about that once, I don't know if I'd be brave enough to sing it here, lol.
Anyways, Davy, Thank you sincerely for all that you do for everyone, even though they might be too busy to tell you themselves. They're probably busy lighting the candles in their shrines they have built for you. :P
 
Davy is about as fair and cool as they come. :sun:

In addition, co-forums administrator @Captain Star and the rest of the forums staff are absolutely terrific at what they do and I don't particularly feel that as the years go on and everyone's interests do change that we should simply ignore the fact that most of the individuals of this forums' hierarchy...true Caribbean pirates, mind you...have been around A GOOD, LONG WHILE and understand the various in's and out's of how a successful forums should be run despite any particular circumstance which comes along sparking/peeking everyone's interest.

Not to embarrass them, but @Davy Darkrage, Star, and key staff members here should be recognized (because much in the same way that everyone is so 'impressed' with how generous emulator developers are going out of their way to provide again a POTCO environment, pirateforums.co administrators and staff have been doing this a good long while before POTCO was even closed), savvy? :flag:
 
I do agree with you @Shamus The Brute about recognizing everyone that puts a lot of effort into the forums, as well as yourself Shamus. You go over and above the call of duty. I wish I had an amazing friend like you irl that would go out of their way to be helpful in so many ways. I do appreciate everyone here. Thanks for mentioning especially @Captain Star she is amazing too.

I want to make sure people realize that Davy is our life-line here,
and that he's the greatest boss on earth. Now, all bow down! :bow:
 
These forums have help me with my nostalgia, and the need for my pirate life again. I never really knew that people liked the things I like! The forums also help me chat with friends whilst them not needing to come over or waste their phone data and get a huge phone bill! This website has brought my dreams of pirates back to life, and I can meet new people who miss the game, too! So, A HUGE 'Thank you!' to Davy Darkrage. I can not explain how grateful I am for this website in words.

It's refreshing to hear someone acknowledge this...
At times, I like to view Davy as a sort of present-day Indiana Jones:swashbuckler: whom main goal now as far as POTCO is concerned is to preserve something of great wealth and historical value (i.e., this forums) which has basically stood the test of time for the benefit of all to enjoy!


I cannot speak for everyone else but as a staff member, to follow the example Davy has led is a tremendous honor in and of itself because in hindsight we each know him to be incredibly fair and insightful concerning the handling of just about every matter which arises where there is a need! In addition, Davy's personal character is about as genuine as a forums administrator can get in a world which mistakenly glorifies control freaks whom patrol the net.

*Please, I mean no disrespect at all in saying this but if I were to give mention of the complete opposite historical figure/persona to describe Davy's interaction with people...an extreme opposite would be Hitler's Gestapo while the rest of us would follow and call ourselves, "Nazis."

I really don't think I warrant the praise (I've already had more than my fair share over the years).. but I appreciate the sentiments nevertheless. For what remains of the forums, the members and other staff really deserve all the credit. They are the ones who have kept the forums running while I've been busy... and they could all use more appreciation than they get.

It's still crazy to me to think of how many people have been a part of the forums over the years. I never expected the forums to be such a big part of the Pirate community when they first began. I've had the pleasure of talking to plenty of people whom I'll never forget. Despite all the ups and downs, and no matter what the future holds, I will always be grateful for the past 5 years.

It has been a long ride with all of you. We have been through so many things, we have had our ups and downs but above all, we have managed (even if not all of us) to remain intact with the community. It is my honour to be a part of this whole thing. Seeing to how generous Davy is to keep the forums up and running till this day, I would like to personally thank him for everything he has ever done for us. I consider this very important. It is not about the game anymore, it is about the memories. The friendships we have made. It is about our feelings. And those, not even Disney themselves could ever take them away from us. I am proud that despite the difficulties, we have managed to keep in touch with each other.

Thank you for all these years of countless support Davy. We would not be here today, if it was not for you. And for that, it is my honour to still be among everyone of you. Right here, right there.
