Welcome Server Invasion Notification

I wanted to test the new Welcome servers. When I first got to Port Royal after the sword tutorial, the game notified players of a Tortuga invasion. The green fog and Jolly Roger moon showed up as well.

Is this a good or a bad thing? And/or is it a deviation from POTCO behavior?

Well I think the Welcome server was supposed to be immune from invasions as only "New" pirates are able to be on it... or at least as it is intended if I understand it correctly

Im pretty sure that is what I read in the release notes..

"These are special oceans/servers that only contain the islands Rambleshack and Port Royal and do not have events such as Invasions that may interfere with the tutorial."

I'm pretty sure you broke that server and should never set foot on it again.
Try other servers if you want to avoid an invasion when they are happening.
Likewise, go to servers with invasions if that's your goal.
On the map thingy, seen by pressing the "M" key, there's a drop down thingy that will show what servers have or don't have an invasion.
Select the desired destination and, voila!

Currently the invasions won’t come to the Welcome Servers in TLOPO. The green skies and notifications do, however.
