Born in Southampton, England the daughter of a sailing man, Eliza spent much of childhood on or around ships. Her father and older brother captained the families cargo ships until East India drove out most of the independents. With the family in debt, Eliza decided it was best to strike out on her own instead being married off. She stole aboard a ship bound for the New World, disguised as a cook's boy.
But as a storm threatened to capsize them, Eliza joined her mates in securing the ship - only to have her true nature be discovered. Imprisoned for the remaining journey, she was left in Charleston Harbor. Finding whatever work she could, Eliza sent money home to help the family, only to receive word her father had passed. Desperate to go home, she joined up with an unsavory crew looking to return to England, even if it meant stealing a ship.
Soon caught and imprisoned, Eliza found herself truly alone in Rambleshack Jail. That was until a charming but devious pirate aided in an escape - only to abandon her once more. Washing ashore on Port Royal and now wearing a pirate's brand, Eliza made a final bid to sail back to Southampton aboard a rickety sloop. She was found adrift by a brig full of miscreants led by a man named Charles Hardwick, who took her as part of their crew. For the first time, Eliza felt accepted and worthy. Even if it meant being a pirate.
She sailed, plundered and fought along side Hardwick's men and in time she grew to love him. But it was not meant to be as the East India Black Guard set upon Hardwick's ship and he died in her arms. Enraged, she swore revenge on the East India Trading Company for making her a widow.
