Ugh! This is what I call poor maintenance. Disney needs to bring the game down for maintenance more regularly to prevent this!

It's just a hiccup in the account infrastructure somewhere. Annoying but should stabilize soon.

Some things are difficult to prevent and predict no matter how hard you try. Some things are out of Disney's control. Can only hope it gets fixed quickly.
