what is up with the sailing crashing

Tell me about it. I've done 4 different material runs only to be disconnected before I can make landfall. Is getting to the point that I need to start porting after the first material just to avoid losing them all.

This isnt TLOPO its TLOPO beta, meaning at some points it will be excruciatingly buggy glitchy laggy and overall unappealing and very unfinished, but lets all sit quietly, continue enjoying the game for what it is, and then get excited once they iron out all the bugs and crashes

Yes, but the problem is that this was working just fine before the most recent few updates.
 
In response to the OP. I also have a problem with crashing at sea no matter what I do and it seems many others are having this happen too whether they use Mac or Windows. I'm using Win 8.1.

For me it started after the update that fixed the infinite loading screen. Fix one one bug and another is born lol (isn't it always the way :))

There is a difference between complaining and simply bringing the bug to the staffs attention or reporting it here on the forums.
We all know that our feedback here is noted and by responding to threads like this they can see how many players are affected by the issue.

It's important to communicate in a respectful and courteous manner to help make this game better and better.

Once the staff have enough info they can start looking into it. And yes patience is important :D

Yes I agree that just saying " this don't work, fix it." Is not going to help staff solve the issue.
That's why I feel other members commenting on that thread is good because at least some of them will offer some extra information that will help towards fixing the problem
 
I certainly disagree with the statement that it gets worse with every update but I do agree that it is the single biggest problem in Beta. To me the, now fixed, Infinite Loading Screen bug was worse than the current Straight to Desk Top bug. That said, I love all the wonderful progress that the developers have made and I'm sure they have put a high priority on the sailing crashes, so, you will get no complaints from me.

Something has changed, before the holiday updates I was able to have 7 or so runs before it crashed. Now I’m lucky to get one.

I wish there was an option to turn the command prompt back on, I think it was a mistake disabling that. I like being told WHY it crashed.
 
Me thinks me see a clue. 1) Ye all crash the game before landfall. 2) ye must being chased by 3 ships before ye crash. 3) me see on compass the clues as me manned the pump. land in limbo for two alligators. Does that sound a reckoning
