What's up with the new forums?

Hey guys, I'm back. Everybody is probably rolling your eyes like oooooohhhh boooy, but just hold that phone and let me explain what its all about.

What I'm really striving to do here is bring in a stylish new layout for TLOPO. And what I really want to do is just create a absolutely awesome place for the members to hang out and chill ^.^ Somewhere really clean and blah blah I've said all this before and your all like get to the nitty gritty.. What do you have to offer us?

If you look here http://www.thelegendoftlopo.com/ this was were we began putting the news on. I know everybody was sort of saying how it was a hassle. You don't even have to sign up for this, quick look, get the news, BOOM, done. You have all the info you need. No worries, no hassle!

We plan on featuring certain guilds (if they contact us) on the guild page and a little bit about them, there you can sign up for them and guilds can have their own sections on the forums!

Scroll to your right and you see the chat Discord! This is an AWESOME little piece of software. What this is, is a simple little chat, BUT you can also voicechat! You want a channel just for your crew? Or hey, you trying to find a crew? We got you covered in the crew section :) You want to voicechat during ship battles? We got you covered on that too! We also have our general chat section for everybody! You have the ability to turn off the voice chat and just type too :) so no worries!

On the forums, we have a nice, clean setup so far, something easy for members to use :) We want to have youtube streams and such!

I really would just like you guys to give it a chance. I really tried to listen to you guys and deliver. And what's above is just a small part of what I really really want to do :) I'm not here to convert people, rather to just explain what's going on. I really don't want to be enemies with anybody, I've always get along with everybody here and would like to keep it that way. I would love to just shoot ideas back and forth with this site and I definitely don't want to harm this site, its been around forever, and I respect it 100%

both. why use the game as your domain? if these are community run and the news you're getting is secondhand*. why not create a new name for your proper site? you're a creative guy. why piggy back?

I don't see anything wrong with using the games name for the forums for the game I'm creating it for to be honest. I mean if enough people said something, it can be changed. Also this is still in its baby stages. Anything is subject to change
 
i could be understanding if it's a money issue, but how many people would have to voice against it? would it also matter who voices?
 
just remember what happened to the last "community" site. do you want that for yours. pirates are a very temperamental and superstitious lot.

So far in a solid statement, just me. We have somebody doing Youtube, and a two coders. The people I've asked for staff are still thinking it over, granted past experiences, I understand the hesitation. Always willing to find new people though if I need to.

We have three backers for this site. One of our coders (just small stuff he can do financially), myself and our Youtube person.

We already have expenses laid out. We have figured out we can do it every month.
 
I'm glad this is a very decent forum site. I only joined in hopes I could get back in contact with some of my old pirate friends I haven't talked to in years.
 
Just glanced over it quickly as I'm only on my phone... isn't the phrase supposed to be "one STOP shop"? ;)

Also: Not to be rude but on mobile, the header image is annoying. It kind of argues with the nav bar. And when you scroll up towards the top, the image comes down to greet you but really just gets in the way. That functionality would be cool with a nav bar but not as much with the header image.
Sorry, just some constructive criticism.

Not a problem :) I accept all criticism, all this is still in beta mode, it's allllll subject to change! But honestly thank you for pointing that out!
