Will beta keys mean anything after release?

In the future there might be a badge that lets people know you've obtained an alpha/beta key maybe a badge that has a key as the icon or something

I sort of doubt it. It hasn't been decided what the "founder" badge would be for, but I'd be a little disappointed, truthfully, if it were this. Some people, through no fault of their own, just have had no ability to get a key. I personally was able to obtain one because of someone else's generosity, but there are many people more deserving than me who never did.
We'll see, though - maybe they'll give us a redeem code for a few thousand gold or something instead of a badge. I'm sure they'll figure it out.

I'm inclined to agree as well. Assuming 'Founder' is implemented, it's a bit of a big deal to implement behind the whole concept of getting lucky with keys.
Maybe there'll be a unique redeem code for an exclusive bandana/clothing or some gold, but aside from that, I believe getting unrestricted access to the alpha/beta was/is a pretty nice reward for getting a key as is. :3

Definitely. I've been playing the game regularly since February and have not had the luck to find a beta key, or win one through a few contests, nor have any of my guildmates been lucky enough to find another one.

I'd be very disappointed if all we were given was a gold code. It would be nice if we could show our dedication to the game to others through a badge or something. I'd like something like a badge for alpha testers, a badge for beta testers, and a badge for founder. At least a clothing item only unlockable through alpha and beta keys would be nice. Not to sound like im begging or anything, i'f we are given nothing ill still be happy we at least got the game back and all the hard work of the devs.

I have a key. But getting that key was just by chance. I didn't do anything spectacular to get it. Why should we get something special for something we just got by chance. Being able to play whenever we want is the reward.

I actually had to stay in the IRC for hours before I was able to get mine. I didn't just get it by digging. I mean in my opinion waiting for several hours for several days is sort of trying for something. I guess the newer people won't have known this but there used to be contests and such for them. I even spent about 5-6 hours drawing a picture for a contest a long time ago.

I spent the entire month of January there in order to get my key. It was worth it, made dozens of friends.
Like Rose said, keys have done their part by providing players with the ability to log on any time they want.

Think of it this way.
Beta Key users have more time to play, therefore more time to grind, level up, get money and make friends, etc
This means you basically got a major head start.

I'd be in favor of a special badge (Founder) or unique piece of clothing. Perhaps a weapon but I feel like that would be going too far haha.

I am already aware of that. I just meant an actually unique piece of clothing perhaps at the end of beta. Besides, I'm not sure if that really counts as an item for everyone who played in alpha/beta considering new players could come later on in beta.

I don't think that keys should do anything once the game is fully released, and I myself am a key owner thanks to someone's generosity. I don't doubt that people who got theirs through a contest or digging put forth great effort to do so (as I myself drew a map and wrote a backstory for the island contest). To those people, I'd say that definitely shows dedication, but that doesn't mean that others who tried, tried, and tried to get a key but never did don't have dedication. Like it has been stated in the past with the Founder badge, having something that newer or unluckier players couldn't get would just create an unwritten class system. It's not other peoples' fault if they were too late to find out about TLOPO or if they could just never find or win a key.
Edit: If anything, maybe having the ability to join a Full server (if we ever have one) might be an idea, as it wouldn't impact gameplay at all

I'm going to have to agree with Jack here. It does not have to be too flashy or anything but it would be nice to at least have a piece of clothing for the players who played in Alpha. Or maybe just a badge for everyone but the Alpha Key testers have one badge the beta key testers have another badge and so on.
xD I remember when MMDR was not even TLOPO staff.
