Do you build or buy?

Build for computers that need to be beefy, buy for laptops and problems that can be solved with something like a raspberry pi (simple webhost/downloading machine). I am holding out that one day we will be able to build laptops like we can build PC's now, but alas it is currently not the case.

Built this 2 years ago, been building computers myself since about 16-17, being 33 now its been a fun road and continues to be great
 
unfortunately the days of building monster systems are showing signs of becoming endangered species , most retail desktops are using lap boards way too often now for compact size, the industry is moving toward modular and more disposable units - dont be surprised if avg shelf life of internal hardware becomes 2-3 yr max in tech and life of actual device usability.
