Enhancements

  • Critical hits now behave differently in PvP than in PvE.
    • Instead of a 2x bonus, it's a 1.5x bonus in PvP.
  • Mayhem spawn points are now predictable.
    • Based on how POTCO did it, spawns are now determined by the sum of the current score.
    • Example: If the score were 2-1, that would be a total of 3; and that spawn would have a dedicated spot.
  • Reworked PvP defeat notices to only display in chat rather than in their individual pop-ups. Things got a little spammy when there were a ton of confirmed kills.
  • For clarity and a through-line to the story, "Millie" has been renamed to "Millie Cutts" and "Millie's Cottage" has been renamed to "Cutts Cottage."
  • Added new HD versions of the red and blue backgrounds found on inventory and shop pages.
  • Reworked how music functions when playing in building interiors. This allows us to have customizable combat and ambient music just like in other locations.
    • No specific areas have had this enabled just yet, but stay tuned!
  • Switched out the rocks in Molten Cavern to have 2009 cave revamp textures instead of 2007 launch textures. This makes it match the rest of the cave walls.
    • The loading screen for the area has also been updated to reflect this change.
Bugfixes

  • Davy Jones' crewmen will no longer display Jolly Roger's spirit when spawning or being defeated.
  • Jumbees will now properly spawn and despawn with Jolly Roger's spirit effects.
  • Fixed a bug that prevented players from accessing the ship rename window at shipwrights.
  • Fixed a district reset when renaming ships.
  • Fixed a bug that caused health regen to not reset on exiting combat.
  • Fixed a bug that caused health to regen instantly out of combat.
  • Fixed a bug that caused health to regen too quickly.
  • Fixed a bug that caused Maelstorm Charge to deal compounding damage.
  • Fixed a bug that would cause ships to remain sunk in SvS.
  • Fixed a bug where players would spawn on top of each other in Mayhem PvP.
  • Fixed a bug where some tracks at musicians would be cut off too early.
  • Fixed a bug where spamming the ESC key would allow players to move around in PvP before the match officially started.
  • Fixed a bug where the visual effects of Ghost Form wouldn't display.
  • Fixed a crash when pressing F6 on Avatar Chooser.
  • Fixed a bug which caused the pirate shaders to not show properly.
    • This caused the lighting in the Avatar Chooser to change from super bright to dark depending on which pirate was selected.
Maintenance

  • Reworked code for pirate profile cards to slightly reduce loading time when opened.
  • Code cleanup.
  • Whitelist and blacklist updates.
  • Adjusted dates for some future holidays.
Developer Notes

  • Lobbies is just around the corner! We're working diligently with our internal QA testers and our community testers to make sure it's as polished and fine-tuned as possible.
    • Don't be surprised if you catch a glimpse at a few features leaking over. You may notice new icons next to game modes in the Lookout page as well as fancy new loading screens when entering a PvP match.
    • We know the wait has been long for the return of the Black Pearl Boss Battle and the extended Lookout features. That wait is almost over. Just hang on a bit longer - we really appreciate it.
