Getting Stuck In The Tutorial

I've requested a play time before and when i joined, i went through the tutorial with the sword. But once i go to board the ship with Bo Beck, and i have to shoot the cannon on the ship, i get suck once the ship has sank. The objective tells me to go back to Bo beck but it wont let me leave the cannon interface. Ive tried pressing every button but nothing works, restarting the game doesnt work. Help please so i can actually play the beta!!

My husband had to trash his first pirate because of the same thing, his second pirate got past it.
