why not have it so grenades get the same rep as other weapons. for instance my lvl 16 sword verses a lvl 19 officer gets 86 rep, same officer with grenades at the same lvl gets only 25 rep

and what weapon is your grenade?

The more times you hit an enemy the more xp you get, it would not make sense for someone to get the same Xp while using a grenade as when using sword.

A recommendation for you is to put one point into stink pot and just hurl them. You'll get loads of rep, and enemies drop enough loot to replenish you constantly.

Grenades always level pretty quickly for me. The low amount of hits per kill is compensated by both the high damage and the blast radius which allows for multiple enemies hit per attack. Sword levels at a kind of ridiculous pace because when you use a broadsword, you're getting the large hit radius, the high amount of attacks, and pretty high damage. It's all a grind, though, and I'd say grenade is not at all the worst thing to level.

Grenades are best used on a crowd to gain XP through number of kills.

Use fire bombs, they deal little damages over time. Unless the fire effect is still broken.
