I dont really understand "BloodFire"

I dont really understand it because I have to attack enemies to deal more damage. I thought it was like a gun/staff. But I have another question, what happens when it gets maxed?

You get the maximun damage added by bloodfire. When it's maxed, the meter stays full and doesn't go up anymore. Also, bloodfire is a skill on the sword, intead of a gun or staff.

I personal feel that Bloodfire is OK but once you get used to it, it remains as about as useful as a burning Marshmallow on the end of a stick...

It's pretty good, but there are a lot of other sword types that are better

I have a famed sword that does that, don't know what it's called, but it's not bloodfire
