Idea Loot Rating System

Value of loot is in the eye of the beholder.

On the other hand, if a loot ranking system was working I'd say
Cursed Legendary/Legendary - 5
Famed Cursed - 4
Famed - 3
Clothes - 2
Gold - 1
and maybe a 'joker face' for ammo, cards, tonics

I don't see the need for a working loot ranking system though

So, does what you're suggesting have anything to do with altering drop rates? Or is it just an aesthetic thing with what's displayed in the containers?

Nothing to do with drop rates. Just the rating of the drop you get.
