Question Looting question

My guild was saying that servers have better loot on them? Say you hop to another, you get better loot. How can this be true if it is? I'm really lost and if I fell for a troll or something I'm gonna feel very awkward. I thought it was all just RNG like every other MMO.

The only plus to changing servers while looting is if someone comes along and tries to take your spot, you can switch to a server with nobody in that spot. That's it. Loot is completely random, regardless of server.
