NBA Awards predictions + who I think should win

First off this is a long thread so I'm gonna update it like this. Who I think will win the award, who I think should win the award, and who won the award after the awards happen.

1. MVP
Who I think will win: Russell Westbrook
Who I think should win: Its really hard to say but I guess: Russell Westbrook
Winner: Russell Westbrook
2. Rookie of the Year
Who I think will win: Joel Embiid
Who I think should win: Joel Embiid
Winner: Malcom Brogdon
3. Most Improved player
Who I think will win: Giannis Antetokounmpo
Who I think should win: Either Giannis or Tim Hardaway Jr. I'm angry he is not a candinate
Winner: Giannis Antetokounmpo
4. Defensive player of the year
Who I think will win: Kawhi Leonard
Who I think should win: Draymond Green
Winner: Draymond Green
5. Sixth Man of the year
Who I think should win: Eric Gordon or Andre Iguodala
Who I think will win: Eric Gordon
Winner: Eric Gordon
6. Coach of the year
Who I think should win: Mike D'Antoni Or maybe Popovich but probably D'Antoni
Who I think will win: Gregg Popovich
Winner: Mike D'Antoni

Well, I'm a bit late, but

MVP
Will win: Honestly a toss-up. People love Russ, but they might not give it to him bc of wins. They kind of like Harden, but not as much as Russ. At the same time, though, he has the wins. Kawhi is a great candidate, too - he's got a lot of wins and he pretty much carries his team for the most part, but his stats are way less flashy than Harden or Russ.
Should win: Probably Russ. I'm biased but averaging a triple double, getting 42 triple doubles in a season, and leading a team of almost nobodies to 47 wins is MVP worthy imo. Harden would be a decent pick, but in reality he has WAY more help than Russ. He's got a COY candidate, 6MOY candidate, and a bunch of great role players. Russ doesn't have such luxuries.

Defensive
Will win: Rudy Gobert (?)
Should win: Rudy Gobert (?)
I don't follow this award really, I haven't seen the advanced stats and stuff for it. I just know Rudy's did some great defensive stuff this season.

Will win: Mike D'Antoni
Should win: Mike D'Antoni or Brad Stevens

MIP
Will win: Giannis
Should win: Giannis or Russell Westbrook

Will win: No idea
Should win: No idea
Haven't been following rookies this year. I know Joel was great, but he got hurt. Other than him, there's not really anyone noteworthy in this year's rookie class, since Ben Simmons got hurt.

Why would you say Russ? I know your and OKC fan but I don't think Russ has improved that much. Last year he had more help like KD so he could not average as much.

Any great players like Russ will average a lot more if their team is that ..... Bad......

His stats went up a bunch, and he played a lot better this season. That's really all there is to it. I know that he didn't necessarily get a ton better this season like Giannis sort of did, but he performed at a way higher level.
 
many people keep telling me Harden > westbrook, but I cant disregard that Westbrook beat Big O for most triple doubles in a season. I think that just ends it right there. He also brought his team into the playoffs. Westbrook for MVP or the NBA is rigged.
