Quests Pirate Blade Upgrade: Spanish Smithing

So I'm at the part of the above mentioned quest where I have to defeat 6 French Skeletons on Isla Cangrejos. Well I'm on the island, and I'm dispatching the right skeletons, but it's not counting towards the quest goal.

Is there something I'm missing, or is this just a bug? I've tried this on multiple servers and it doesn't work on any of them.

Here's a screenshot illustrating the bug. I've defeated the skeleton and gained XP, but it won't count towards the 6 I need.

Yeah, that doesn't seem to work.

Drop quest and pick up again? Try sending a screen/video to MMDR maybe also

It won't let me drop that quest, or any quest at all. I'm recording footage of the bug right now.

That seems to be working for me too, but the quest text just says "French Skeletons." Whatever gets me done with the quest I suppose.
